On hard level, the AI opponents know what they're doing, and they don't make it easy.
There are some great variations, including a living board, and a challenging cut-throat choice, where you can put up buildings on any property you own without having to own the entire set (excluding RRs & utilities). That makes things interesting. And I think the game actually cheats. It's subtle, but flaunt it by spending too much, and suddenly you're landing on tax more often. Great fun.
Thanks for reaching out about a single player mode in Monopoly!
I can confirm, playing at hard level makes the game challenging! :)
@PNB - thank you for sharing!

EDIT - These artificial difficulties are pissing me off. Set the A.I to hard and I land on tax nearly EVERY TIME I pass GO, I lose that $200 go money NEARLY every time I pass go when I set the A.I to hard. And I constantly get property repair from the chance and community when the A.I is set to hard. It's then ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because it's NO longer a game of chance, it's just unfair.
