They will kick your butt if you don't try hard.
The game irritates the hell out of me. I love it.
and internet connection, personally i haven't had any disconnecting issues.
i have seen others disconnect,it's happened maybe 3 or 4 times
usually you can tell who has the worst ping
as their dice will lag around on their throw,
i mostly play with a couple of friends that live in canada
and a few people from a monopoly discord,
they're from all around the world and we've had a couple of
disconnecting issues, but it's just one person who disconnects
then rejoins
I think it's also down to who is hosting the game aswell
i pretty much host every game when i play with buddies or on the discord
so i guess having a host that is far away could effect all users.
Anyways, to answer your question, in singleplayer (Bots)
you wont get disconnected, it's singleplayer, you can even save and exit
and pick up later on(you can have up to 3 saved games)
aswell you can have up to 6 players/Bots (including you)
just note tho there's only like 8 rule sets
there aren't any custom rules. you can't create a rule set.
with all that being said, considering it's the only monopoly native to PC
you don't really have much choice but
it is worth picking up if you like monopoly,
has a few issues and your mileage may very a little
it's still fun and is really your only choice for pc
And there are several variations to try, and they're all fun.
When you do take the leap into online play, this might be a handy link;

The game does a real good impression, but with always disconnecting there will be no real online playing possible.
I would except some restrictions as only playing with one online player and also just in local area, what also could be a question of how much servers there are.
But no real online playing at all is really tough.
Perhaps the offline playing is so good that I except no online playing but then the game is as no online playing at all. 15 euro isn´t so much, I also would give Euro 20 for a real good game but the question will be is it with online playing or not.
In the end the developers should go one step further and look for a acceptable solution. If sometimes connection the game should go further with bots which go on in any way.
I would like to buy, too. But in the end I will reflect what to do.
In some way I still hope that the deelopers will look for a solution in any way.
Example: You are allowed to mortgage at any time, auctions/landing on a unowned property/paying rent. This is so people can't win by just breathing. But the game says screw you and so everyone just waits for the new players to go to 0 cash then bids 10 bucks on all the remaining properties. I mean a person with an IQ of 50 could figure out that strat. Screw this game.
