On my 3rd game, the game got stuck in a UI glitch that was unsolvable. I've played about 10 so far and that's the only glitch that I've ran into.
Though it was a solid 1h28m worth of time lost. It was disappointing.
For Local Play Multiplayer, you will have to pass the controller around to friends/family or get a 3rd party app and keybind the controller buttons to the correct key.
I don't think the AI are too calculated or "bully"ish. The Live Board is nice to look at.
As far as online, in the past 4 days (or 2 hours of searching total), I have found ONE other person. I'm guessing patch 1.0.3 came too late for the people who had the game and dealt with the glitches. But regardless, I couldn't tell you if online multiplayer is broken or not.
TL;DR
The game is not bad but the people who are complaining do have valid complaints. Get it on sale if you're hesistant. Be sure to check Uplay for sales also.

This is why you don't experience any issues. Look at the negative reviews. The problem is that basically EVERY online session randomly disconnects your buddies and replaces them with bots. Your friends cannot reconnect so you have to start a new match from the beginning. When you've done it four times, you are fed up with this game.
This happens to everyone around the globe, regardless of connection or hardware.
PSMonopoly had significantly better configurability (when it existed/wasn't presumably Cease & Desisted by Parker Brothers).
