Locked controls

I'm playing on Xbox one, and I'm grateful I can map the buttons unlike many console games.

However I am unsure why rewind/push to talk button is locked; I would like the bumpers to be up / down shift to free right thumb for leaning, rear brake and clutch as rear break.

I'm not very good at this game - I have no MX game experience and I ride enduro, but controls as they are (for me) make my two XR650Rs seem like they'd be easier to enter and exit corners than a 250 since I can't simultaneously control everything as easily as I could in reality.

With this setup one could downshift and properly brake, lean and keep proper throttle, shift and accelerate, shift weight as required out of the turn or through bumps.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm struggling to find a control scheme that works without doing this.

+1, need those keys unlocked. doesnt make any logical sense why they need to be locked. I dont use push to talk because discord is just purely better. I turn off rewind so no use to me.

Thk god I'm not the only one not happy about this. I'm on PC and I can't map my RT button to be my front brake. I like to have my buttons mapped out like the handlebars. Clutch on the left and front break and throttle on the right. You guys need to fix this plz...

Yeah same, I have the same layout for all my other mxgp / motogp games and for some unfathomable reason milestone have made a ridiculous call here by binding flashback to a prime location. I never use flashback anyway, except when I get mowed down by crazy AI.

I use Steam big sreen mode and reconfigure the controller through that. It's not an ideal solution as there are issues with mapping an xbox controller as a steam controller, but it's better than ragequitting or retraining myself for a single game :)
