Poor quality video playback
The video playback was actually worse in my opinion. Below I added screenshots to compare PowerDVD 17 with VLC. Both players were playing back the original file, with video enhancements explicitly turned off in PowerDVD (it starts with 50%, and this made the video very grainy and even more unpleasant to watch). The image produced by PowerDVD is too bright in my opinion

For paid software there is a serious lack of fine-grained post-processing controls, no clear UI/Skin customization. Open Source tools like VLC and Kodi do a much better job as a general media player. Maybe you excel at Blu-ray support, but I do not use this... so I would not know.

Note: Unable to review (remains at 1 minute), I have to resort to a discussion. I want to review as Not recommended ...
