Not able to play - Bugged item

I'm not able to play the game. The first interactive item is right over the menu button.

Trying to select the newspaper only opens the menu button because of how the UI is positioned.

EDIT: More than 3 months later, the dev still hasn't looked into 21:9 aspect ratios and why the game doesn't play nicely in them.

Could you please tell us what screen resolution is used at your PC? Try to switch to a different one, 1920*1080 for example.

I am not playing fullscreen. Options > uncheck fullscreen. So this is in the game's basic native resolution of what you posted. My monitor is 2560 x 1080 but I am not playing fullscreen. I bought this game as part of a bundle and all 5 other games were able to display properly.

That's really strange behavior. Could you please try and check full screen, play a while and then uncheck it back?

I've tried that, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling as well.

Also have: made sure all my Windows updates were up to date, and have my latest video driver, rebooted, still an issue (in both full screen and native resolution in non-fullscreen mode.)

Submitted. You will see I have a 2nd display too. Just to add: I have tried it in my other/smaller monitor and problem still persists.

Found a temporary solution that allows the game to be played.

Right click "Dark Angels: Masquerade of Shadows" in library.
Click porperties then local files then browse local files.
Right click "Darkangel"
Click compatibility then in settings tick "run in 640x480 screen resolution" hit apply then launch the game in steam.

Hey presto everything is where it should be but looks like crap.

To add to the above , if you alt/tab out of the game and then go back in the res has fixed and the bug is gone, most strange.

I'm still not playing fullscreen. The new monitor technically has the same resolution.
