In some dungeons and later raids a Knight is required to make the group invulnerable to certain boss attacks.
There isn't? Then why do mobs in dungeons mostly target me, regardless of if I was the first to hit them or something? Is it just coincidence?
I havent played the game much yet...
But in my experience games that do have a tanking or trinity setup will have threat generating abilities say so in their tooltip. Damage and healing generates some aggro, but if an ability generates even more then it says so. Does this game have those on your tooltips?
Also there might be some crude ways to test if there is an aggro system
Like going into a dungeon and for just a few seconds have the DD pack proximity aggro some mobs but dont hit them. Then have the healer who is way in the back heal anyone who is taking damage. In the old WoW days tanks didnt have a lot of snap aoe generating abilities. Usually back them you would body pull or the tank would shoot their ranged weapon. The mobs would aggro to the tank since he initiated combat but if the healer healed someone before the tank tapped the mob then those mobs would stop running to the tank and run to the healer instead due to healing aggro. So you can see if mobs in MS2 have some kind of reaction or none at all to your group healer healing.
Another one i can think of which might also be hard to do unless its a group of friends specifically going in to test threat/aggro is this. The tank can go in and engage a mob and only take away 25% of its health then the tank stops attacking. Then a DD can go in and chip away at the mobs health to see how it reacts. Depending on how much % damage the DD does to the mob you *might* be able to tell if there is some kind of threat mechanic. If on the first hit the DD does like 5% or a low amount of damage and the mob immediately turns to him then its a safe bet that there is no threat mechanic and its based on proximity or whoever is most active or just random. However if he manages to do at least 25% damage then the mob turns to him then threat is damage based. If however he does more than 25% damage and gets up to like 50% (just an example) then the mob turns to him then the tank may have some threat modifiers and/or the DD might have threat reduction. But it just doesnt show on the tooltips or something.
Thats all i can think of until people start coming up with combat parsers, damage meters or threat meters.
