New Version Last Resort Mod

Hopefully this doesn't break the community rules but just wanted to let people know that I just posted a new version of The Last Resort mod (v0.8.5). Lots of new textures.

- Added new textures for missions B, F, K, T, U, Z.
- Changed to a sliding door texture mission B
- Fixed mission B textures not canon to 2005 story lore
- Copied the upgraded identical textures to other maps
- Fixed Mission U backwards textures
- Fixed Mission U rug decal falling on chair
- Fixed Mission U university name in textures
- Fixed Mission F, T backwards textures
- Disabled the server tab in LR launcher
- Added check if Swat 3 already running in launcher
- Added additional game .exe check to prevent error

Okay the beta file has been re-uploaded and MD5 checksum confirmed.

For some reason it looks like when I updated the website software all the download files were nuked.

Thank you so much for this! My first time ever trying the SWAT series and this game is an absolute joy. Your instructions were nice and clear, and oh my GOSH was it easy! I'm looking forward to all future updates. Is there a mailing list I can sign up for?

For the mod announcements? No sorry I didn't think enough people would be interested in that sort of thing. I will post in the Steam and GOG.com forums when there is a new release.

Glad you found the instructions easy to follow. I spend a lot of effort trying to make things easy to use and understand.

Many people are starting to try to use the mod on strange platforms like Steam Deck, Linux, android phones. I am looking at coding the launcher in Python so that it is cross platform friendly.

Any luck with Linux compatibility? This game is the only thing that I keep Windows on my PC for at this point. I've been trying to get dgvoodoo2 to work with it but I haven't had any luck yet.

I take it you tried running everything with Wine on Linux (including the Last Resort Launcher)?

The python rewrite of the Last Resort Launcher may take a while since I am a total noob with Python. My son helped me with the GUI so now it looks pretty close to the Windows version anyways. I am trying to focus on making new map textures for the mod and this side project is going to need a lot of time.

I am also working on a written tutorial how to get the mod running with Swat 3 if for some reason people can't get the Launcher working.

Confess I have not looked at readmes lately already.
Is there an easy and fail-safe route to update via the archive from v084 without losing any progress or configs?

The mod won't affect progress of career mode/single player.

You should be able to install over your version already installed fine.

I just recommend that you start up the Last Resort launcher, hit the toggle switch at the top right of the launcher to turn the mod OFF, and then hit SAVE & QUIT.

Install the new version right over top by choosing the proper Swat 3 folder that your game is in.
