You can play play multiplayer with LAN emulator like Tunngle.

Download Tunngle, find SWAT 3 channel. Set your SWAT.exe path and hit play.

You dont really have to be in Swat3 room, you can be in any room, the important thing is that you and your buddy or buddies have to be in the same room at the same time

For playing multiplayer, you're restricted to playing in a LAN game as online multiplayer is broken. However, if you do want to play multiplayer with people all over the world(don't recommend playing with people far off as the lag will be a detrimental factor), you're going to need to use Evolve. Register, login and invite someone to your party and you will see your friend's LAN server in the LAN browser. It's a way better alternative than Hamachi, a completely garbage program. Enjoy!

Evolve. It uses more power(causing lag on extremely low-end pc's still using Windows XP) but has a better connection overall. Tunngle is slower and buggy, I couldn't find my friend on the server browser as he kept going on and off multiple times.

Installing Evolve software screws up the SWAT 3 .exe's ability to play Swat3_XVID_movies.zip xVid .AVI files. It would give me the SWAT 3 DDERR GENERIC error message when playing the intro movie or a mission movie. Uninstalling Evolve fixes the issue.

This is why you download the 32 bit version of CCCP located on http://www.cccp-project.net/ instead of relying on that xvid thing that only partially fixes the issue.

After downloading the CCCP 64-bit program for my Windows 64-bit OS, I didn't bother figuring out why it still didn't play the movie files. Installing the 32-bit program of CCCP probably works, but since it was counter-intuitive to install 32-bit version instead of 64-bit for my Windows 64-bit, I didn't bother trying the 32-bit version. Thanks for mentioning it though.

There's multiple servers for SWAT 4 on Swat4stats(website) and there are some on game ranger but they suck.

I will confirm the above posters issue with Evolve. I too was getting the DDERR Error and I downloaded both 32 and 64 bit version of CCCP. The game kept crashing during campaign briefings, I uninstalled Evolve just to see and low and behold everything works now. A shame Id like to play both, I guess I can reinstall evolve when i want to play online.

All my friends are able to play with Evolve. Not sure why your game would be crashing. Run it as admin, or disable firewall, idk.
