You do know that with the GOG version you don't even need to download their "steam" like client. The game can be downloaded and installed stand-alone?

Nope, SWAT 3 has been on there for awhile, SWAT 4 appeared on GoG in January of this year.

Honestly people may as well get it on GOG and then add it to their steam library as a non-steam game. It wouldn't even have that much steam functionality - the multiplayer servers are down, there are no achievements so what's the need for steam?

well need to understand that people like my self prefers steam than other services. been a user for 14 years now and steam has everything i need. i came from WON days to steam when steam became a big game center it was a bonus. plus gog doesn't have everything wheres rockstar games like max payne? anyways for me steam is my service.

I would too like swat 4 on steam,never played it before and i imagine getting it on gog and then setting up a game would be a hassle.

I don't think it will be released on steam ever, since gog has it on their store. Also, ready or not is a game that will be the successor to Swat 5, and I am so pumped about this game, I made a steam group that announces any new news from the game from diff sources.
