PoE1 update seems to have broken save importing
As the title says. It doesn't even seem to be a save location issue as I have moved around (copied) the *gamecomplete.savegame file to any possible location that could work, spent hours trying to fix it myself and got nothing. Pretty sure the update happened mid-playthrough.
It does see my week-old pre-update gamecomplete file by the way, not that I want it.

Some suggested hopping onto the legacy build through the Betas Steam feature but that throws me quite far into the start of the game, however some reported that they just had to do the Burial Isle again and that's it.

Would really love to keep up the momentum after finishing PoE1 recently, hope it gets fixed soon.

getting a feeling it might just be faster to actually just replay all of PoE1 AGAIN (at least as a new class) on a legacy build and go from there

this whole issue made me realize just how handy the legacy creator is, I remember my choices well and with the help of the wiki to see how some character endings work I was able to recreate all that I've done pretty easily... I will replay PoE1 another time once I need a new story though

I'm having the same problem. I tested it on several computers and the import feature straight up does not work anymore, at least not if your PoE1 save was made after the update. I even put my save in the Pillars of Eternity II save folder and redid the endgame several times to get new saves.

I too hope this will be resolved soon.
