DLC Beast of Winter, how to beat final boss (SPOILER)
Neriscyrlas is giving me a really hard time. I don't know how to use the interrupts properly, either they miss or they don't do anything at all and she (?) manages to buff herself up to godlike state. I had 5 medium potions on everyone, thinking it should be more than enough and still got destroyed. Heck, I am using the buffs on the right and left side of the map to increase my damage and nothing. Is this even possible?

I'm a rogue lvl 16

If you are having trouble dealing damage (as it sounds like you are) then the following might help:

1) see if you have access to spells or abilities which reduce DR or increase penetration of weapons then make sure you use them (there are some foodstuffs you can use at resting, also you might be able to craft scrolls of rusted armour).

2) make sure you are using the most upgraded weapons you have access to. Each rank of the fine/exceptional/superb/legendary increases penetration.

3) see if you have any way of dealing raw damage (bypassing DR)

4) pay attention to Nerys's specific DR for different damage types (I can't remember them off the top of my head) and adjust your attacks accordingly.

5) use buffs which increases might as this will increase damage per attack.

More generally: use summons to absorb some damage and attention. Keep you party dispersed to avoid being slaughtered by area effect. Make sure that more than one character has access to resurrection abilities (scrolls of revive the fallen help here). Make use of paralysis effect to help manage the fight and provide space for healing and buffing to take place.

Good luck :)

Damn wait til you find out she's not the final boss lol.

But there's many ways to beat her. If you got the 3 souls from above to aid you, they have powers they can use that you activate by going over to them during the fight that will weaken her.

If you released the 3 souls you can convince her to basically kill herself and skip the battle altogether.

Otherwise just stack as many interrupts as you can and keep her concentrations empty and she should be relatively easy.

Interrupts will interrupt her spells, but only if she has no concentration. It will say on her character how many concentration she has, each interrupt will remove one and if she has none left, it will stop her from casting her spells.

Ah, so that's how it works. I basically just stack interrupts on her then? Gotch'a. Worst case scenario, is it possible to dispel her? :)

I struggled like crazy, but in the end I got her down. Will mark above answer as the answer to my op, but the other reply helped as well. Thanks for helpful comments. :)
