Best Party for dialogue/flavor?
Just wondering what people thought. My party always seems to gravitate around Eder, Xoti, and Serefen. Then I'm always left wishing I could have both Maia and Tekehu. Aloth can rot (god what a miserable bastard he is) and Pallegina is okay but also kind of mopey.

Should I go with Maia or Tekehu?

Change them out depending on the quest..most quests have recommended companions too

I pretty much used Eder, Xoti, & Aloth constantly (and they always seemed to have the most dialog, especially Eder), and then swapped back and forth with the 4th spot, depending upon what quest I was doing.

Oh for sure I will. But lots of the time, there is no recommended companion.

When not recommended you can either try to think who would appreciate it most (going to a place with lots of dead-> Xoti working with a faction->whoever works for that faction)

Otherwise use whoever you want (keep in mind dlc companions have least content though have some in dlcs)

You can get a mod that adds more their talks (so they all interhect at scripted events instead of just 1) just nexus it.

Good to take Eder and Xoti to talk to the big green guy, since they both worship him. Tekehu is nice to have for the faction quests in general since he's one of the native Huana, so he has the largest personal stakes in the political situation -- he's also the most undecided about what to do with himself as well, in a way that the other faction companions are not.

Personally I'd pick 2-3 characters you want to stick with, and rotate out the others depending on where you're going, and save some combinations for the next playthrough. But it really is best to be flexible, I'd say. In part because companions not only have relationships with you, but with each other, and whether they turn out positively or not can be affected by the conversations they have while they're accompanying you on quests.

Some interesting pairings: Eder and Xoti/Aloth/anyone, Xoti and Maia, Maia and Serafen, Tekehu and Pallegina. With the DLC: Fassina and Konstanten, Ydwin and Vatnir.

Oh dammit! Now I might have to restart with that mod! Sigh. Thanks for telling me :p

Honestly, I'm not sure I'm going to play through again (my wife might play it but all the text reading might be a deal-breaker) so I want to make this count.

Thanks for your input though...other than Tekehu and Pallegina, it looks like I'm mostly good. I'm fine leaving Aloth sad and alone in the ship. He deserves it. If I could tell my adopted orlan daughter to bully him relentlessly, I would.
