Only way to have it not happen is have them like you enough to offset the Rep loss by doing the quest. If they like you enough, they'll stay.
But I need a second melee tank just as much
I suppose I could. Not sure if it's worth loading a prior save and finishing her quest regarding Giacio (the animancer who helped her as a child). Or just stay where I am, having beaten the rather difficult fight.
Edit; I probably should reload actually, since she took two of my best weapons with her -.-
I really hate game design like this.. I like consequences for decisions, but it would be such a simple quality of life improvement to have a character not take your gear with them.
There should also be a bit more warning that its going to happen.. Or have it happen sooner. If she doesnt want to massacre a Valian family, she should leave when I attack them, not after the long difficult struggle.
I'm gonna try to sub her back and in see what happens.
Now that I've done her personal quest to rescue the animancer I'm not even sure I want her over the custom paladin. Her stats are kind of everywhere and she doesn't get along too well with Xoti and Tekehu.
Agreed. She's also the 3rd god-like in my party and it would nice to be able to put some of the game's helmets to use
