Last I saw only like 3 people have completed it, probably more now. Obsidian will put your name on a plaque if you do it.
If you don't wanna go that hardcore, the god challenges themselves make the game much more difficult.
For this moment, there are 4 people who complete it (actually, 4 whose Ultimate runs was confirmed by Obsidians, 1 who completed it twice). I know 2 more who is trying to complete it.
one of them is me
Path of the Damned difficulty without God challenges is arguably less difficult than some games' hardest difficulties. Even Pillars of Eternity 1 was more challenging to me at POTD, I seem to remember. It will still kill you though, sometimes multiple times, unless you really know what you're doing and are very experienced in the game after multiple playthroughs.
With God challenges though...no. It's not 'challengeless crap'. It will make you cry, like a little girl who lost her barbie doll. Obsidian specifically addressed the difficulty complaints with these extra 'handicaps' to the game. Some of them are annoying, but manageable. Others, will result in ragequitting the game.
Ultimate challenge is not meant for mere mortals by the way. It's an act of masochism, and constant disappointment. There's a reason why you can count the people who have succeeded on one hand.
Nice! Best of luck man.
Unless you have a million illusion/dodge/antideath buffs like a fighter/mage in pathfinder to steamroll the army of sponges i can't see that working very well.
I apologize, but I seriously think that the balance and challenge should be developed by original developers, not some "mod".
