Auto Pause on ability finished - Eder
Hey all,

I just realized this now (after all this time lol) that when Eder finishes his knockdown ability, the combat does not auto pause. I do have this option selected of course, and it does auto pause when my other party members finish using their abilities, but not when Eder uses knockdown. Is there something I’m missing here? Does it not qualify?

Why would knockdown autopause?

The only thing I want to happen after using that specific ability is for the fighter to continue attacking, which doesn't happen, and I always have to remember to hold SHIFT to queue up default attacking after I unpause.

Now pausing after an ability fires seems odd. What I mean: you are wrong and shouldn't want that.

Yes a bug (I didn't noticed lol), to tune it down, activate AI auto attack only, but yeah this has side effects. Most players don't notice because they let the AI do the work. Im' not sure why I didn't noticed as I played a long time without AI. Now I have activate auto attack, but I'm not sure yet I'll keep it.

To each their own, I played all infinity games with this autopause, and for me it's the core of this gameplay. For PoE1 it was an harassment, and I tried many variations, none fully satisfying, at end when they finally added an AI more or less working, I played mostly only with manual pauses. For Tyranny again this autopause worked rather well. For PoE2 I also play with this autopause. I don't know why I felt much more comfortable without this autopause for the whole DA series, and only manual pauses. But I don't agree this autopause is just bad. It's a matter of tastes.

you dont have to re engage if you were already attacking the target. I think what your saying only happens when you initiate with that particular skill. You also disengage when summoning, and using aoe skills as well, even if you were attacking before you casted.

Some ya do, some ya don't have to.

"Knock Down" is one you have to "begin attacking" *again* after use [though in PoE I. you don't have to].

Note, I never use use AI because I'm a real man.

Ha that's only when starting with the skill, still a bug.

For other examples you quote the autopause works, no bug.

That works with the new Auto Attack Only option since v1.1, which is an alternative to AI OFF/ON.

Yes Auto Attack only option solves this problem but generates new problems, character doing some stupid movement, or at least do some movement you don't want.
Such as triggering traps. :steamfacepalm:

AI OFF has been crippled compared with PoE 1 unfortunately.

I vaguely remind that PoE1 auto attack option is causing the exact same problems for movements.
