Does anyone care about the Valera, Bardatto families?
In Queen's Berth you have two noble families who hate each other. You can one of them, both of them, or kill all of them.

I've tried all solutions and I don't get any increase/decrease in repution by anyone.
The Vallian Trading Company doesn't mention anything about.
Pallegina fights with you if you attack the families. No comment at all.
It's like not even the game cares about them.

It looks like the best option is to kill the families one by one, and then take all their stuff.
Or do one quest for both sides and then kill them, to get some extra xp.

You earn quite a bit of reputation along the way by doing the quests, but they don't matter beyond the portion of the game that they are in.

Pallegina does warn you at some point, assuming that she's in the party, that she won't stand for totally eliminating one of the families.

The best outcome is to get them to make peace and then go rob the Bardatto vault.

I was extremely disappointed about that questline. Unfinished and bugged, at least before the patch. If you dont have Pallagina in your group you can even kill them all without her leaving the group. Just add her back in the group after you are finished. As far I know there is not one comment of any NPC.

Get them in peace was satisfying, even if it was a bit surprising that it can work. I was a bit surprised it hadn't a second layout around son conspiracy. There's clearly multiple options, that's the point of the quest, at least if there's no bugs. It's a good quest for me.

It suffering from the same problems, most other quests do. The quest givers are all unsympathetic, angry, lazy, evil, a-holes, so why care about any of this? The one thing I did really like about this quest was the duel between the kids at the waterfall.

I was surprised at how easy it was to get them to come to a peaceful solution within seconds of meeting them just by asking them nicely. And all I had to do was get their dumb sons to not murder each other. Some feud, huh?

I had Pallegina in my party.
During the negotiations, I attacked them both, saying: "Death to both your houses."
Pallegina didn't comment and helped me without judgement.

I also killed them to weaken the Valian Trading Company, but this didn't matter at all in the endings.
Maybe there's an ending that mentions them, if you helped them in some way?

Nope, not that I noticed. I was hoping that helping them would make some difference but apparently not.

You can rob the vault afterwards?

Absolutely. It's easily stealthable if you don't want to take the rep hit.

You need a mechanics skill of 12 and at least one sparkcracker to get past a stationary guard

And of course you ought to be sneaking with just 1 character, while the rest of your party whistles nonchalantly whilst propping up a straw-Ydwin, or whichever character you prefer to use for that.

Really? So I made their quests for nothing? Well the XP and bounty at least.

What do you do quests for in RPGs if not XP and loot?

It was a light sarcasm.
