Not this game, but others. Shelve it for now and maybe you'll come back to it later. Or maybe it's just not for you. Don't force yourself to play something if you're not into it. 85 hours is much, much more than a fair shake.

Game becomes faceroll after 20 hours even on potd, the story is short and definitely not sweet, the side content is fun but grates after a while and the dlc kinda feels pointless when progression stops about 30% of the way through all the content.

Fun game, definitely play it a ton but iv'e put 300 hours into it and still haven't seen the credits roll once.

I just get bored about halfway through every time.

just playu or normal, any build will be fine. take npc characters. dont research a thing.
pretty hard to keep interest in a story driven game, when you research every aspect of it

I would think playing on normal would just speed up the process of getting bored, you don't even have to pause on normal, you can just let the ai run over everything.

I found the game more enjoyable by getting the mod to raise the level cap to 33 and going solo

Story if really short if you just get on with it.

It seems a lot of people share this opinion. According to the Steam achievement, approximately 20% of players have actually finished the main story... and the DLC completion less than 10%....

Depends on the person, the game is not perfect, what game is? However, I found it very enjoyable as a old school crpg player, and consider it a gem!

This is common in many RPGs. No matter how much you enjoy it, it's just a long time to invest and at some point, with so many options, you start to want the quick 'fix' of starting fresh with a new class.

My advice after struggling with it for a long time is...just stick to one character. If you lose interest, stop playing for a while, but come back TO THE SAME GAME. Don't delete it or make a new character.

You'll have more fun playing new content, especially the DLCs which have some of the best Deadfire moments by far, than you will by just doing the same stuff with a different character class.

Not exactly. Most people buy a game, never play it or only play it for a tiny bit, and then don't play it anymore. All the achievements are warped.

A better measurement is ...52% have completed "Blow the Man Down", which is the first quest players are likely to do after the tutorial island. So these people have spent long enough on the game to actually be invested in it.

Then 20% have finished the game. But since half the players basically never played the game at all, that means 40% of those who actually did play the game completed it.

The percentage completed number has never accurately portrayed how popular a game is. Most players simply fall off long before the end, regardless of the game itself. It's even more common in long RPGs.

this game is inferior to its father, missed opportunity

Besides the story, this game is superior to POE1 in every single way. And even then, POE1's story isn't amazing; it just happens to be better than POE2's.

85 hours is still a good chunk.

But yea I am same way. Steam stats tells me I have a 13pct game completion rate lol

A bit late, but for some reason i have the same issue with this game, even more than with PoE 1, although i like the world building and all. BG Games did catch my attention more, but i really can't tell the reason :lunar2020thinkingtiger:

Edit: maybe it really is the Main Story, which i think, is quite boring to be honest...
