But honestly, one flirt option shoudn't block all romances, never saw this in any game
It's not like this with all companions, but aloth has security/confidence issues, and tekehu is a man ♥♥♥♥♥, so it's not that unreasonable that aloth would be completely turned off from you just entertaining the idea of tekehu.
Think about it like this, I'm interested in a woman and we're flirting or whatever, but then I see her being a total groupie to Kieth Richards or Mick Jagger and starts hitting on them. I'd probably be turned off too, and I don't have confidence issues, but just people like Richards and Jagger are dirty af and I wouldn't touch any woman with a 10ft pole if they slept with one of them.
And tekehu is basically Mick Jagger in the deadfire, who spends his spare time banging hoes at the brothel.
Sure, but it's a buggy romance, because I think this happens with all companions
Also, one thing it's flirt other romance, the character considers this with any companion as far as I know
I'm not talking about in-game logic, but the gameplay aspect
It shound't lock any romance
But I've done playthroughs where I've romanced both Maia and Xoti and both cases Tekehu tried to flirt with my MC and I've had my MC respond positively to some of his comments without breaking the romance chain with either.
I remember saying I had no feelings for Xoti, but I think it was prior to this event, Maia until now never said anything to me actually
Obviously to continue the romance, I would when he says he's interested/might want more I had my MC be honest that he was pursuing someone else. But there a few dialogue options before that where you can flirt with him before that specific dialogue shows up and responding positively won't break other romances.
I'm guessing that means this dialogue the "choice" point where you have to pick if you want to continue with someone else or Tekehu
Xoti is really the easiest to romance, be nice to her and flirt with her by choosing the options that show up in dialogues to be sweet and kind with her, don't disrespect her religion and she'll fall for any MC fast and as long as you don't cheat and continue that way she'll be happy the whole game (so no more prostitute bonuses unfortunately)
Maia's romance requires you to do her personal quest, then get friendly with her pet bird by giving it shark meat. Then you're pretty much good to go.
But again never tried romancing Aloth. So I could be wrong
No wonder people say Aloth's romance it's hard, it's buggy and getting his approval it's also a bit harder than the other companions (They fit his character, but I make one joke to a random encounter and I lost half his firendship). At least the way my character behaves in quests often makes the bar go up again.
That seems like a bug then, because I just recently finished a new playthrough romancing Xoti and when the "choice" dialogue shows up, there was a specific line where my character was able to say I was pursuing Xoti specifically. And once I said so Tekehu took it well and I remained friends/maxed out approval with him all the way even if I sided with the Vailians under director Castol and the huana were designated as my rival faction.
But yeah Aloth is really hard to please and he was the only companion who's relationship I couldn't max out, thought it was still positive.
