The prospect of moddability will definitely add replay value as well. PoE1 was very locked down, like most unity games. That made me a little sad. For this one, they're promising something akin to mod tools and they've left a huge chunk of the game files exposed for tinkering. Even if the tools never come out, we'll have a lot of mods targeting the exposed game files. There's even an override system in place to help avoid mod conflicts when two mods target the same file.
they did more than fine when it comes to different gameplayoptions and amount of quests/areas to explore.
Only thing keeping me from exploring too much are the bigger ships roaming and having to constantly maintain morale and resources.
And yeah all ready named two Islands.
And keep forgetting what their called, but got one of those short lizard folks Xautrix(sp?). As a crew member.
I'd imagine for some Nekataka could be overwhelming. The way I did was do deal with each district separately. Once if finished one district I'd go out to sea and explore some islands or do bounties. After a while of doing that i'd come back. Nearly don't, only need to do 1 more district and that's to deal with the queen.
I just found another town/island on the south east of the map. I'd imagine its similar size to Port maje but it has 3 districts + one locked disctrict at the peak of the mountain. Wonder what is up there.
Finished that location last night...its fun :) (if you play on PoTD + up scaling - bring potions xD)
HOLY HECK.
I'm level 17 and finding it really difficult. I've restarted this fight 20+ times. I keep getting paralyzed or getting swarmed upon by the minions that Fampyrs summon.
On side note, I literally can't understand how people find this game easy. They either played on normal mode or just did the essential main quests to finish the game. This guy is crazy hard.
edit: I had to cheese it and initialized early attack (my most powerful spell) without talking to him. Good thing it has huge AoE.
There are ways to counter paralyze etc. You just gotta gear use potions, scrolls and abilities accordingly.
Yeah I know. I'm just shocked at all the people saying its easy and even some saying they leave it on A.I mode and just click. It's nothing like that, there's actually a lot to think about in fights like this.
Also, apparently killing the guy using my method above glitches these game and makes it so that you can't progress to the tower section :S
a) in general people braggin how easy a game like this is can be safely ignored
b) lots of us played a lot and i do mean a lot out of PoE(and White March) and some mechanics definitly still work nearly the same
c) there are (just as with any other crpg like this at launch) lots of broken builds which can steamroll every encounter
d) PoE and PoE2 are currently probably (next to Tyranny) the most complex new age crpgs out there...and i love Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, but Obsidian games are far more indepth when it comes to mechanics
e) the A.I can't handle any real fight..sadly the somewhat disfunctional script system doesn't help either...well most of us probably want to manage everything themselves anyway (i do for sure).
Im level 13 with my party on POTD atm and I havent met a single really challenging fight but then again maybe its because I know the games base mechanics so well from PoE1
Game is too easy tho, sorry but it is. We're not talking by huge margin tho, Obsidian just needs to tune enemies or AI.
Not sure about that. I played PoE1 (not the dlc's though) and it was the first time I played anything PoE related. I had a wizard and most of the skills I got werre self buffs. I had maxed out resolve because my friend said it comes in handy in discussions and about 13 int. Basically I made quite a shoddy wizard and I played the game without any issue (very few reloads).
PoE2 on the other hand I have a min-max shattered pillar monk with soulblade and certain fights are crazy hard. It's just certain islands have content which are really challenging. Take Splintered Reef for example. I've been doing this same boss for the last 2 hours and reloaded about 20 times.
