A Shrewd proposition quest broken / Slaves [Spoilers]
So if you go the "Liberation path", in order to free the slaves, you must clear out the caverns for them to "safely escape". Until then you cannot tell them to flee.

However, it seems the quest is broken, because even if you do follow that, and help the armed group, the log is stuck on "his captives remain locked in Crookspur's dungeons". I've cleared the whole map but no effect.

Did someone else encounter this and manage to fix it?

Since there's nothing on google, here's something for other people that will likely encounter this problem.

1. Clear the top left corner of the map where there are some mercenaries hiding. https://i.imgur.com/bFqvnBV.jpg This will allow you to trigger "The fort is safe" type of dialogues.

2. It seems the quest is only half-finished. Even though the log will stay at "captives remain locked" if you go to deadlight and talk with Aelys, it will complete the quest.

3. Again it seems the quest is broken or half done, as it will say "I freed the slaves being held on the island, and turned over the slavers' ship to them." when you do nothing of the sort.

Surprised this got through QA in its current state.

hum..I just killed everyone in there . Both down in the dungeon and on top . Then opened the cages . They all run off by the ladder (not the cavern) . And yes , I did get that same thing 'captives remain locked' . But it still counted as freed later when you meet the tribe and report back to the pirate lady what's her name .

I have a similar issue - you see I went to the dungeon area before killing Kua. When in the dungeon area I unlocked all the things with lock picking - dungeons included. When I unlocked them there were no slaves in the dungeons - they were empty.

After killing Kua I went back down to the dungeons and killed everyone there - the Dungeons were still empty - there were never any slaves there to free. The quest only gets half done - no-one left alive at the fort except one slave found in the courtyard who is now my crew. There were no slaves in the dungeons and no cutscene.

Seems you have to kill Kua and the ogre guy with the key before going to the locked dungeons in order to trigger the slaves actually being in the dungeons to free. Pretty big bug.

I have another problem with this quest. I freed all the slaves and killed al the bad guys. My log updates that i need to go back to Fort Deadlight and talk to Captain Aeldys. But when im there and i talk to her there is no conversation option for finishing this quest.

Does someone has the same problem ?

Two years later, I have the same problem, found Aeldys at Fort Deadlight but she doesn't want to talk about killing the slavers and freeing the slaves, can't close the quest.

Really the slave quest can be triggered by the order of Furrante who's making deal with the Orlan Slaver. You decide to bust their operation.

The Key thing to do is:
1. Free the Wahaki tribe member (which is in itself a prove that the slaver breach the rule of not selling huana) -- find the keys for them and then *allows* them to clean up the majority of the enemies in the Slaver's fort lawn. (you'd want to save that one Dead godlike before and make sure he join your crew, that just what heroes do).
2. Free the rest of the captive.
3. Clean the house.
