So I am at the part where you need to chase down the ship Bearn is on. I treid looking in areas north of Neketaka and just can't find it. Anyone managed to find the ship?

same here. i nearly searched the whole north part of the map by now and nothing.

I found him sailing around Ashen Maw.

I've only ever seen in around the area on the northern side of the map near Magran's Teeth (slightly east of Ashen Maw). Specifically the Area in the game world near the text of the word "Teeth"

This worked for me and another person as far as I know.

Go to docks.
Eder says they just sailed off.
Board your ship.
Click on the Ashen Maw.
They should be somewhere on that route keep an eye out as your ship sails.

You have to fight the Ships Partisans and persuade Bearn not to kill himself.

This worked for me too.

Though when you get to Ashen Maw you have to be careful to avoid a fight or two you might not be up for, depending on how your ship is equipped.

I think they go nearly up to the Maw and turn right.
