[Mod] Deadfire Balance Polishing Mod
You want to play with a variety of summons but always end up using Animated Weapons ?
You dream of a Paladin battle commander but find exhortation meh ?
You like the concept of Corpse Eater but find them underwhelming ?
You feel disappointed by Single Class Rangers so you always choose Multi Class ones ?
You don't like abusing Salvation of Time + Brilliant + Barring Death Door ?

This mod has been made for you !

This mod aims to open a maximum number of build possibilities while remaining as close as possible from the original design. It was designed with Community Patch in mind, so the 2 mods don't overlap too much.
The buffed abilities are underwhelming ones and the mod also includes a handful of nerfs to somewhat broken features (Brilliant, Salvation of Time).
Nerfs are included in a separate package, so you don’t have to use them if you don't want to (and all abilities have a dedicated file so you can easily choose custom content).

There's a huge amount of content in the mod, so if you want to get an idea about what the mod does, just pick your favorite class, or check for subclasses or abilities that you feel needing a buff.

I’ve tried my best not to go “too far” and avoid powercreeping.
The mod has been discussed for a while on Obsidian forum, so it should be free from broken stuff :
https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/113694-project-for-a-balance-mod/

The best feature of the mod is in my opinion the Summon Rebalance Package.
Even if you don't like using mods, I still invite you to have a look at the analysis I made about what summons actually do in the base game :

It is still a very good spell, even better than before, but it is now impossible to abuse by combining it with Brilliant, and all other buffs will also have to be re-cast again at some point.
Imo the problem here were the Brilliant and BDD, not the Salvation.

What exactly did you to Rangers? I can't see it in the topic you linked.

For Rangers :

Sharpshooter :
+20% Range with all ranged weapons

Hobbling Shot :
Hobbled for 10s->15s

Heal Companion & Upgrade :
2 Bonds -> 1 Bond
Cast time : 3s/4s -> 0,5s/4,5s
Range 4m-> 10m
Note: I didn't follow Community Patch change for this one.

Revive Companion & Upgrade :
Revivewith 50 health -> 100 health
VengefulRevival : +20% damage -> +30%

Brutal Takedown : Interrupton Hit -> Interrupt on Graze

Deadly Surprise :
+100% damage -> +300%

Bonded Fury :
3 Bonds -> 2 Bonds
Cast time : 0,5s/4s ->0,5s/0s
Range : 6m -> 10m

Twinned Shot :
2 Bonds -> 1 Bond

Vengeful Grief :
Duration 15s -> Infinite (note that DEX and MIG affliction still dispell the Inspirations you get)

Heart Seeker :
20s Enfeebled -> Infinite Duration Enfeebled (but cancelled by CON Inspirations)

Shadowed Hunters :
Pet's first bite after using the ability apply a 30sDoT effect (20 raw damages per 3s tick). Note that first pet attack doesn't break invisibility (this is true in the base game).

Distracting Training :
6s-> 15s (note that this is the base duration. It will be lower in general because the ability use pet's Intellect)
Now applies on Miss from all attacks, not just melee ones.

Stunning Shot : add 10% chance Bond on Crit

Pet Abilities Keyword :
Added Beast Keyword to all pet abilities cast by the Ranger so they benefit from equipment with bonus to Beast abilities.
Applied to Heal Companion, Revive Companion, Bonded Fury, Master's Call, Shadowed Hunters & their upgrades.
Not applied to Takedown and Play Dead cause they are cast by pet themselves (and PL can be detrimental to Play Dead cause it rise its
duration)

So, as you can see :
- Under Tier 7, there is mostly A lot of buffs to pet supporting abilities.
- Above Tier 8, I buffed almost all abilities.

Stunning Surge small refund and Twinned Shots reduced cost are there to make SC Rangers more sustainable. Distracting Training and Enfeebled from Heart Seeker also help toward this goal by giving them lasting effects.
Vengeful Defeat and Bonded Fury have been buffed to make pets more powerful and/or much more convenient (basically negates Bonded Grief penalty).

The change about Salvation of Time doesn't make it less powerful. It is arguably better this way (it benefits from INT and PL). I targetted the combos, not the ability itself (there are always different ways of correcting issues).

I also nerfed Brilliant (can't regenerate Tier 4+ anymore, since Brilliant was more or less fine for martial characters), but even with this, there were still ways to abuse Salvation of Time through Tier 9 Chanter Invocation "His Heart Did Fill With the Light of the Dawn".
