Are the godlike worth it?
So I really like the god like. Both their appearance but how they are basically the tiefling of PoE. But they get normal bonuses like EVERY other race, BUT they lose a head gear slot. Which wouldn't be so much of a problem if just I could use torcs. You see, I really like being able to gain that +1 or +2 int for my wizard so.... I was hoping someone could tell me why they're worth it.

Not to hate on anyone who likes them. Hell I do too. But loosing an entire item slot... Erhhhh. I might meta game that a bit.

I just started my 2nd playthrough (did one on realease and then waited for all the dlcs to come out for a 2nd) with a nature godlike as an ancient druid and I'm already happy I did just from the additions to the dialogue from being a godlike. I just got to Neketakka and I've had seen the the godlike tag in conversations no less than 6 or 7 times which has been awesome/refreshing.

I've only seen 1 and I'm just finished at the Engwithan dig site. I maaaaay need to start over again...*sigh*. As I made a mistake and I got a new idea for a character. ^^

If you're playing on regular difficulty then don't worry about it. Just play what you want and have fun. If you don't want to risk not being able to put on a helmet then pick a race that doesn't have that issue.

Yeah pretty much this. Any difficulty apart from potd, do whatever you want and you'll be fine.

Would you feel better if you thought of it instead as having a permanent headgear that gave a perk of <insert godlike ability here>? For example, for the Moon Godlike, a permanent headgear with automatic heal when crossing damage thresholds for the first time in a battle? That sounds like a pretty cool headgear "item" that my character might want to have for a full game!

In PoE 1, you got special dialogue options with some undead as a death godlike. There is a pack of undead in the White March that will outright attack your pc. If you are a death godlike though, you can talk to them and have them fight with you. I'm new to PoE 2 as well, so I can't talk about it unfortunately. In PoE 1 though, while there were good helmets, because of how you couldn't stack stat equipment buffs together you were never really at a disadvantage for picking a godlike character. It was nice having that extra ability, no matter how situational it was.

As another poster said, play what you like ...don't pick a race purely for minmaxing purposes (racial passives aren't that important anyway).

Having said that:
  • Nature godlike is good for single or multi class DPS barbs (since you'll be enraged 100% of the time).
  • Moon godlike is good for a character which soaks damage, like your main tank or a berserker (it's kinda hard to track your hp when enraged as it's hidden during the duration of the buff).
  • Fire godlike's passive is a no-brainer for tanks
  • Death godlike is a niche pick. Again single/multi class barb is a good pick, paladin is possibly a good pick as well. Pretty much any DPSer somewhat benefits from DG's passive, but a front line DPS is the one that benefits the most.

I thought a Death Godlike Rogue Assassin made a lot of sense. The whole being a paid killer as a Death Godlike seems natural. And then he could already revere Berath anyway so then he gets made her Herald? bonus.

Homie shows up asking for help and yall jump on him with your insecurities and stupidity. No brother, Godlike are not worth the helm slot. Maybe fire if you make an specific build for it, but only in that way.

Per the narrative Godlike occupy a weird place.

They're sterile, revered or killed, and are basically batteries which may be harvested at any time by their respective God parent.

To be a Watcher in PoE 2 standing around while the gods talk about consuming you for essence would really suck.

Their legacy is their deeds because they'll likely live and die socially removed from the kith surrounding them.

Most are sub-optimal. Nature godlikes are the best at anything that will be buffed, so... basically anything.

Play what ever you want.... Unless you are playing POTD with multiple challenges, or soloing the game, it doesn't matter. This is a ROLE playing game.
