Pro Tip: Be more creative. Think quality over quantity :)
I found Xoti excellent as a priest/monk. Her Concecrated Ground spell is very good. He Kung Fu stuff makes her extremely useful in melee - her kicks and Rooting Pain and stuff are totally kickass. I also played with a Druid so I had Moonwell avialable as well and the combination of Xoti's Concectrated Ground and my druid's Moonwell took care of all my healing needs almost all the time.
For me Xoti cast a series of buffs etc start of an encounter then switched on Lightrening Strikes etc and proceeded to kick anamies around the battlefield at will. She was a monster.
I agree the priest spell book is very underwhelming compared to PoE1 (where priest was IMO the strongest class in the game), but that's why I chose to dual-class Xoti and I'm glad I did.
If it was a stat in the character sheet then I would be willing to bet pallegina is outhealing xoti in my campaign. I have pallegina as a paladin/chanter (amazing combo) and xoti as a priest. Intuition would tell me that a paladin/chanter should not be outhealing a priest, but she is. And in my game, pallegina is a second main tank next to eder so she is carrying my squad lol. I am also trying to focus xoti as a healer first and a support second. But priest heals are not strong enough to be a healer main in my opinion.
granted i dont reallly have anything to add AoE constitution inspirations either, so a lot of people are being healed with constitution debuffs on. I think the biggest carry in pillars 2 would be a character that can add AoE constitution inspirations to your party. I dont know if that exists because I havent read every skilll but if there is a class that has an aoe con inspiration then I am going to be using that class in every future playthrough. I think priest either needs a couple more healing spells, or an aoe con inspiration spell to be capable of main healing.
I have a lot more than 2 threads on this forum. I dont think creativity should be a focus when creating a thread. I dont care if the devs read my posts or not lol. If I wanted them to read my threads specifically then I would post on obsidian forums.
Wether or not you need a dedicated healer is not the point of the thread. I am doing fine with a priest, but she is a terrible healer. Priest should at least be capable of being an excellent healer given the lore inside and outside of this game. I do not like RPG's without roles myself, and i found the most major flaw of dragon age inquisition was they took out healing. A RPG without a dedicated healer is like playing a platformer without jumping for me. If Priest is not capable of being a dedicated healer then they are useless (currently the way it is IMO)
Probably because the amount of healing they're capable of putting out is balanced around the assumption that you also have buffs and debuffs at your disposal, reducing the need for straight healing to begin with.
An ounce of prevention and all that.
