Mirrored Image graphic is painful to look at....any way to change/mod it?
Is there any way to change the graphic? It would be great to make this a game feature, 'turn off painful graphics'. This might be especially beneficial for some with a visual impairment or disability.

I have rolled up a sweet, sweet Shattered Pillar/Trickster striker character, but between him and Aloth, I can barely look at the screen without feeling like I am drunk (that's the chronic fatigue kicking in). An Imaged character in the backlines is one thing, but keeping track of your frontline is another thing entirely.

This character is built around the Image defences, so I don't want to not use it. But it is putting me off playing it, which is a shame as this is otherwise the most fun I have had.

@Devs if you are reading this. I really do think the ability to turn off this graphic would be...inclusive? Some of us are quite sensitive to visuals you know!

People will complain about literally anything. It's impossible to cater to every single niche request.
Brian Sirith Jul 23, 2018 @ 7:57am
They should consider this case though I believe. Making players physically sick should be avoided no matter how small the niche. Maybe post this on the Obsidian forums?

@Saint.... as Brian suggests: when it can make some people feel slightly ill, it sort of outweighs minor cosmetic details. I have never been one to take to the forums and 'have a moan', but in this case I believe it is justified. Where I speak of 'inclusivity' it is because some will literally struggle to process the blurred copies.

And the vast majority don't have an issue with it. Again, you are a niche group. You have the ability to solve this issue yourself. You just choose to put your issue on someone else's plate. Either stop using the ability or mod it yourself. This minor cosmetic detail should be easy to alter on your end.

Ok are you serious?

Either fix it yourself or stop using it? Most people cant mod it themselves. And theres nothing wrong with letting a developer KNOW that something is bothering you and they can take it from there. MAYBE they can do something, maybe they cant but are you REALLY busting someone for saying a specific graphic HURTS THEIR EYES?

Anyway. I think the OP should post on the Obsidian forums and let the devs know of this. I dont think they check steam much. Whether they can do something or not is something they know.

And thats all from me. Not gonna continue with this discussion. Cheers!

Alright then Saint, if it is easy for you, tell me how to mod it and I will.
If you have nothing positive to add to my harmless post *asking a question ("is there any way to change the graphic)* about something which may affect a small, but still important part of the playerbase, then please stop the attack - I am not feeling the attitude.

You respond as if I am forcing *you* to do something about my problem. In actuality, I am appealing to those who may know more than I do, or to devs if they ever check here. In addition, there is a thing called 'reasonable adjustments' in the case of things which may *obviously* cause difficulty - visual effects like this are going to trigger quite a few people with visual impairments, make some with epilepsy feel like they are having a focal seizure, confuse the hell out of anyone with say chronic fatigue, and all manner of other issues.

Now, this started lighthearted and simple - but I think I should make a point here. Please do not throw it back at someone as 'their problem' when they post to an *open forum*, where you don't have to reply; and when they say something is making them feel unwell. A 'niche group' who experience difficulties might begin thinking 'they are the problem', which is something they may have been made to feel at many points in their lives.
Additionally, this 'niche group' are paying customers and the devs are selling a product. People have *every right* to raise a concern.
So please, either help or at least re-think your stance (or just don't reply to my post).

Additionally, I see some players have had fps drops with the graphic too - perhaps that justifies some helpful advice from someone, when making a very small amount of players feel ill just doesn't cut it.

@Brian, yes. I will register on the Obsidian forums and post there as I seem to be wasting my time here....although judging from the amount of posts made there, I expect it will get lost.

[Edit - changed the post with more info to better reflect the situation, following these discussions]

Nope. I still think you should solve this issue yourself. I don't care if you pass in your own vomit every time you use the ability. It's not an issue with the intended product. It's an issue with you. I also don't care that you're a customer. I don't buy something and complain that it doesn't cater to all my inane needs. You're not special.

@ Devs I hate the color red. It makes me angry. Could you please change all uses of the color red to brown. Thanks.

We should petition for the removal of colorblind settings and FoV sliders. After all, it's not the dev's fault that people might suffer from visual obscurement or simulation sickness.

You shouldn't need to mod out visual effects that lead to motion sickness/etc, I thought the game had options to remove the effects. Are you sure there's nothing in the options to handle it, maybe a graphical setting?

there is no reason to be crude......it makes you look stupid....Being so narrow minded is never good......

@Saint. Reported for trolling and harassment.

@View The Phenom, I will take another look but I don't think so, only colourblind setting.
