Help me pick a class
Hey. I've played a lot of the old Baldur's Gate games, PoE, a bunch of RPG's, but I always end up playing a human fighter. Tell me what race and class to play in PoE. Only requirement is that it can't be a class that makes the game very difficult, because it's just a weak class, or anything. Help me out!

I hope it helps you. Just choose what you want really.

Spasibo, Ivan. But you don't understand. I need you to tell me: DrOnline, youre playing <class> and <race>.

You're playing a Dwarf Paladin (Kind Wayfarer)/ Chanter (Skald or no subclass).

Lemurian: Aaaaalrighty. You'd tell me if that combination sucks, right?

Tank: Fighter (Unbroken) / Paladin (Any). Race could be any as well, though I like Aumaua or Aumaua-size Godlike just for the fantasy of being an unbreakable wall of steel.

Melee DPS: Cipher (Soulblade) / Paladin (Bleakwalker). Race is variable as well, though I like Death-Godlike just because of the whole dps = death fantasy.

Ranged DPS: Rogue (Assassin) / Ranger (Sharpshooter). Race can be any, but Elf is the most stereotypical for bows, Dwarfs and Orlans work as well if you go with firearms.

Support: Priest (Magran) / Chanter (Troubadour). Race is variable as well, but I like Dwarf as it gives the image of a beer-brawling, loud mouthed son of a gun (literally, Magran's weapons is a sword and gun!).

Blaster: Wizard (Evoker). Race is your choice again, but Pale elf or Fire-Godlike with elf build is my favored choices. Pale Elf with the Ice-spells flavor, and the Godlike for the obvious Fire-spells. Death-Godlike might work for corrode spells as well!

GhostHeart/Devoted any Race. Pretty much take everything that's related to damage. Self explanatory there because it's limited. Use penetrating strike as your alpha shot. Max perception, strong might and int. Dump resolve. Max explosives and use a rod. Just throw as much meat in front of you with companions and summons as you can and blow ♥♥♥♥ up. Alternatively you could max alchemy and get some big boosts to rod speed, accuracy, and damage.

Shifter druid + Nalpazca monk.

Since gear is not counted when shifted you don't need to worry about gear or weapons. Down right scary damage when focused into lightning.

With the Nalpazca drugs are the tits 500+ second super drugs are great. You never have to worry about wounds again. Don't think you NEED to be high for every fight either. The -100% healing debuff is only applied when an active drug effect ends and you trigger the drug crash debuff. If you don't take a drug at all you can't crash. Though you do still suffer the wound degradation.

Human, couse ♥♥♥♥ that xeno scum. Rogue (Assasin)/ Wizard (Evoker), and blast everything from stealth! 20 10 10 10 18 10 (stats). You can lower strength from 20 to 15 and put 5 points in perception for accuracy, but assasin's bonus should be enought, i hope.
Or Fighter/Wizard. No subclasses. Pretty much spirit lancer build. Playing it right now. Pros, it is a tank with melee aoe or live draining attacks. Cons, you are still a wizard and it feel very wierd to play like that, when you have good attacking spells. You want just blast everything, but it would be a bad idea with this build.

Probably but for the maximum flexibility for party and companions, a solid close combat seems wiser.

DrOnline you're playing:

Moon god touched Crusader (paladin: goldpact/ Fighter: Devoted (sword).

Awesome tank that will hardly ever get touched by mid game and can still do some damage.

Lemurian's advice is a great character but you sounded like you didn't want to mess with spells.

That's a good one to go with. Except unbroken... Almost through all content with one right now as main. The other one I mentioned above I used a hireling for. Pellagina pally/chanter arcana expert. Eder rogue or merke rogue/monk. Rekke fighter monk explosives expert. I doubt they have done a full pass of the later game fights because that setup just absolutely wrecks stuff.
