Unarmed combat questions
Hi!
1) Is there the unarmed proficiency like other weapon types?
2) At least one class (Barbarian) has a passive talent for unarmed combat. Does that talent stack with monk's unarmed bonus?
3) Is unarmed considered as two-weapon style?
4) Is it possible to use unarmed abilities while the off-hand is empty? Not empty?
5) When an effect requires an attack with a melee weapon, does this include unarmed?

I had to run the beta and make a monk (again not very familiar) just to see if i can answer some of your questions and help. So, i 'll answer them with the order asked. 1) no there isnt but there is a kinda hidden modal , that pops up only after you start the game , as long as you don't use ANY weapons in main hand. It's called haymaker or something and gives +2 armor penetration with unarmed attacks , but + 50 % recovery speed with said attacks , so i would'nt use it, unless there are some freaking heavy armored enemies. Not worth it u become a snail :) 2)And rogues and fighters and ciphers ! . Ok. The wierd thing is that when u select one of the aforementioned classes to multiclass with monk the passive ability, called monastic training is gone.Disappears.Checked it several times with several class you cannot use it with a monk, goes away POOOOUUFFFF! Unless i am missing something , although i doubt it. 3)I think yes , i noticed a slight increase in speed with unarmed attacks, altho because there isnt a weapon equiped i couldnt see how dexterity and this passive talent increases speed (again i may missing something) 4) Yes there is not a thing as unarmed abilities only melee and ranged ,i used force of anguish ? with unamed, 2 handed weapon , single weapon , and only shield equiped in off- hand. 5)I think the above answer this as well. You can use any melee attack with any weapon or unarmed. Hope it helps..Again someone more familiar with monks perhaps can tell you more or correct me if i made some mistakes.

Thank you a lot for your kind research! I hope 1) and 3) will be fixed so that unarmed combat could be as convenient as other styles. Also, as I see, unarmed cannot be a choice for the Devoted at the moment.

Ok brother here is the thing..... I just made a brawler ( devoted and monk ) and : 1)u lose the aforementioned modal (haymaker), it was ♥♥♥♥ anywayz. 2) u gain + 2 penetration with unarmed permanently ,even tho u are not considered proficient .. 3) in the accuracy tab it indicates that u are -10 accuracy as conditional ,because again you are not proficient with the weapon, but when i attacked the accuracy was not affected by the penalty.Dunno beta bug or intented? As it is now in beta i say u only benefit from the class kit

Unarmed is a proficiency by default for every class (Though monks also get access to transcendant suffering ), so devoted gets a buff by using unarmed. The -10 accuracy, as you said, is a conditional and only applies to weapons you are not proficient in. Thus the conditional is greyed out when using a proficient weapon but still appears just to let you know it's there I guess. Got this info from the Deadfire forums (Flies away)

What I learnt is that you cannot get the advantage of Devoted because it is applied to the proficiency you select on the 1st level. As you cannot click "unarmed", it is not applied here.

No, its as Addam said proficiency by default and i ' ve already tried it and you get all the benefits,, as if you are using a one -handed sword (which you are proficient with ofc). So you are golden.

Thanx for confirmation. Looks like it is not so obvious if the source I used misunderstood the matter.
