my suggestion
Unbroken+Goldpact Knights
Devoted + Assassin
Black Jacket +Sharpshooter( Dual Blunderbusses )
Beguiler+Assassin (Immobilize, then shank)
Soul Blade+Devoted (All about weapon based DPS)
Ascendant+Barbarian (could be insane if Carnage helps you gain focus.)
I love Ciphers since Psions aren't represented all that often in fantasy RPGs, so some kind of Cipher will be my first character. I just hope that multiclassing and spliting power sources doesn't weaken multiclass characters compared to pure classes.
I have doubts if any of those class have fun game changer high level skills, which is not possible to get if multiclassing.
We'll see soon. In any case I loved PoE, and Im sure I'll love deadfire too. I'll figure out the best multiclass/subclass combination for me -as everyone- over 1000 possibilities. So overly hyped...
Unbroken + Goldpact Knight sounds interesting as I had a great relationship to them. Would fit imho. I'm not even sure why I consider a druid as the second option. Maybe because of the ability to shift.
@wendigo211
Your options sound interesting, which is your favorite?
@hairyscotsman
Which subclasses will you choose - or are you waiting for the release and choose while you create your chacracter?
@alrik1119
Which subclasses do you peer at?
@Anil
Sounds also interesting - all those choices give us a variety of options
If carnage helps to build focus, I'll probably go with the Ascendant Barbarian. It seems like it would be pretty OP, so I would expect them to nerf it when they do the first balance pass (and OEI was nerf crazy with PoE). Since I plan to do my first playthrough on PotD, I want all the power I can get.
If it doesn't work probably the Beguiler+Assassin. My experience with PotD in PoE taught me that controllers are golden on that difficulty and Beguiler seems like it might be the best controller.
Controllers seemed to be really mighty under certain circumstances in POE. Maybe you can give us an insight, when you tried your choices.
I personally prefer a more active part in combat.
May I ask what you focused on in your character development? Which abilities e.g.? Will you import your savegame to PoE 2?

That said:
- You can play 1 class to achieve max class potential.
- You can mix classes with good synergies (aka relying on same attributes) to complement your build with more options.
- You can also mix with totally unrelated classes, since you may want some abilities of another class without spreading your stats thin, that will work too.
- You can wildly mix and match for crazy utility.
Just have fun and do what sounds more fun to you. Role play!
