Chanter Troubadour + 7th level Chant that summons skeltons = INFINITE SKELETONS
I've just now got to level 14 as a single-classed chanter on Path of the Damned, enemy scales upwards. Everything has been balanced so far under my level, can't breeze through them but never too hard... and anything over my level is rather difficult (damn you Concelhaut). And I've taken the 7th level chant "Many Lives Pass By, Each Leaving Footprints", says it summons a single skeleton.

Its like the chant version of the invocation that summons 3 skeletons. But troubadours have a modal ability that shortens a chant to around 1 or less seconds in exchange for these chants effects no longer having any linger (and thus you can't stack 2 chants together). That means that my buffs or debuffs from my chants are pretty short-lived but proc repeatedly. However the aforementioned chant seems to not be affected by this limitation. Skeletons are summoned and remain for 10-15 seconds every time the chant starts.

Troubadour special abilities mean I can repeat this chant extremely rapidly. So far it seems that there's a maximum 7 skeletons I can maintain, using the summon skeleton invocation replaces existing skeletons summoned by the chant. Thats still 7 freaking skeletons. At level 14 POTD they're really weak but they hold the enemy in place exceedingly well - and since I replace them every second or less their durability is much more than enough. Using ranged weapons for the entire party - nothing can get past the wall of bones.

Is this a thing? It seems rather overpowered where I am. When said skeletons are supported by paladin and another chanter's buffs (Pallegina/Teheku) they can actually go beyond a meat shield.

it is chanter summons need to be toned down, josh sawyer said the beckoners are going to be nerfed Im not sure about the other classes

Eh I'll leave someone else to do that XD. I felt underpowered in POE 1 as a chanter. I'm going to reclass Tehuku (Chanter/Druid) to do the same chant, can you imagine 14 skeletons with Paladin attack buffs?

It seems like an oversight/bug. I mean there's no reason for this chant to last that long. I actually thought of that but never tried it yet (planned to) I just expected it to last as long as the chant does.

At the same time I can see why it would be dumb because the skeleton would barely have the time to attack because there's no linger effect. That being said it also could just be a bad synergy and just work like any other chant that way. In any case it's ridiculous and overpowered, this means that you can play with 5 adventures troubadour and just spam this to oblivion and have a walk with your dog while the skeletons just finish the game for you. (that would be 35 summons + 5 party member).

Well in any case I'm fairly confident that any 5 Chanter Beckoner team would be ridiculously overpowered but still.

he can't summon.. well unless he does not have his sub class in when he multiclass
