Best multiclass for dual pistols
Title.
What multiclass would be best for dual wielding pistols as dps?

Probably Cipher/Rogue

I was thinking something with monk to use the flurries, but I read flurry is for "melee" weapons. I m wondering if its a typo because i remember people using it with blunderbasses

Ranger / Chanter imo!
Ranger has great ranged weapon passives and decent utility and damage abilities.
Chanter has a chant that speeds up ranged weapons plus buffs/debuffs according to situation.

Fighter (Black Jacket) / Ranger (Sharpshooter) might work as well if you bring several sets of pistols and rapid fire for a crazy amount of alpha strike damage.

hmm .... even rogue's specialization for dual weapons says -15% recovery with weapons.
handguns use reload speed and can benefit from attack speed. Recovery is of no use right?

Black Jacket fighter and Ranger. Black jacket for more weapon slots so you can shoot, swap to another set of pistols and shoot again, then swap to another set of pistols, etc etc. Ranger for the ability to have your shots hit multiple targets.

i want to avoid the "switch weapons" mechanic. sounds too micromanaging
problem i have with ranger is that basically he's got only one passive that speeds up his reloading

Dualwield bonus is applied for reload speed too. Technically reload and recovery are nearly the same. And just on a sidenote: The dual wield talent is a general talent for all classes.

In case you are dual wielding pistols you're at -30/-15% reload speed each (dual wield /talent). You could lower reload speed at around ~1.5s (without any armor) if you stack various bonus (chanter buff + talent + dual wield base bonus + dex ...)

I would go ranger / chanter or ranger / cypher.

Ranger chanter would use pistols almost like machineguns with both classes abilities to reduce reload speed.. while ranger cypher would have fast reloads but better damage thanks to cypher's passive ability.

Ranger chanter also has the benefit of being pet / summon heavy and having a lot of meat shields so they can fire with relatively little harassment.

good points! thank you both

Chanter most of what you're getting is the reload bonus from the chant, can bring a chanter along to cover that. Tekehu does fine but I tend to let him melee, so better to make one that is ranged and will stay near you. Black Jacket micro-management isn't hard at all. Start battle, select your character, soon as you hear *crack* *crack* hit s. *crack* *crack* s. *crack crack* s. *crack crack* s. Then ignore your character for the rest of the battle and let him reload and fire as needed. You'll want the quick weapon switch ability from fighter to make it even faster, but it's a lot of alpha damage, especially once you have a good stock of fine/exceptional pistols. Really good way to take out a mage or priest at start before they can use emergency spells to recover and drag it out. There is also a set of leather armor that can be enchanted for a bonus weapon slot, but I assume that doesn't work in conjunction with Black Jacket and the skill trait, because there's no where on the character sheet to show another weapon set.

If you really don't want to micro at all, devoted fighter isn't bad, 2 extra pen and +25% crit damage. You'll be about useless against 2 or 3 skeleton fights in the game, though, unless you go get Eccia's Pistol before hand. Otherwise, Ranger for the reload bonus, and sail up/over to Tiakiawa (sp) at start for the hat with reload bonus for around 2k gold.

Especially if going Devoted fighter, go Hearth Orlan for the hit to crit.

second class, cipher is good for a bit of extra damage and 1 pen, but if you're casting you're not shooting, and cipher spells invoke recovery which is affected by armor, unlike reload. Reload you could be hanging out in plate mail and not care, which is good late game when you've got the hearth defender's to give everyone else a bonus to armor.

I prefer streetfighter rogue for second class, and let everyone else apply a couple of debuffs, +50% sneak attack damage, some escapes if something runs up on you, finishing blow is amazing, ring the bell is pretty good, at Deathblow it just gets ludicious.

rogue/ranger

fast attacks and fast reloads(pistol modal and ranger gunner passive), high damage(sneak attacks + deathblows), bouncing bullets(driving flight) also a bouncing devastating blow is ridiculous

if u want to be a hybrid pistolero and caster i'd suggest chanter(troubadour) or cipher with either rogue or ranger

Monk/Chanter
Incredibly high action speed, lowered reload time, great passives and self boosts and amazing self defense capabilities if anyone gets in melee.

Devoted fighter/rogue can do a ton of damage.

Ranger has some nice abilities, but a lot of them just don't apply in many situations for your gunslinger. You also get saddled with a stupid pet mechanic.

Devoted gives you extra crit damage and also a big bonus to penetration. Rogue gives you all that extra damage for flanked opponents. And what's not mentioned in this thread is fighter and rogue both give you the utility to survive when the enemy starts focusing you. Fighter stances, constant recovery, and all those rogue teleports are quite handy to keep you alive, and people who are alive do much more dps than people who are dead.

Well you heard a lot of other answers... so.. Druid/Barbarian. Throw the pistols at the enemy transform into a two legged hog and eat their face.
