Help with multiclass Cipher build
I don't like to micro-manage nor do I like to simply watch - I like it sort of right in the middle.

So I was hoping to make a Cipher (Soulblade)/________ character - with the second class providing decent melee/survivability.

So I would think: Fighter or Paladin or Barbarian? Although the Barbarian might not provide enough survival.......

I would love some help with suggestions of which class and then some guidance on what class abilities synergize well together ........

I thought about Rogue/Cipher but figured it would be too squishy...... I like to play with a smaller party - in fact, 2 or 3 total would be ideal.

Thanks!

troubadour chanter might be nice too.. you can just set it song passive songs and once a while do panic paralyze cone or perhaps throw summons

you can go offensive phrases that weaken the enemy , strenghten your attacks or then perhaps help you last longer. and then invocations you can do armor reduction perhaps or debuffs or buff yourself and party

I did a cipher(soulblade)/paladin(golden pact knight) and it was great (I played it with 2 one-handed swords). My character was the 2nd best damage dealer in my party. There are not so many paladin spells, the class tree is mostly filled with passives.

You're hard to cc, you're a nice offtank (but I think you might need a true tank in your party), you can get a healing spell and a resurrect spell too. You can mark enemies and it works with cipher spells. You won't have awesome combos but you'll be versatile and useful (especially in a small party).

You'll have to chose for a paladin order tho, which gives you buffs and debuffs if you stick true to your order's dispositions, e.g. as a golden pact knight, you will need to avoid passionate and agressive/cruel (one of them) dialogue options but you'll want to be reasonable and stoic (other dispositions won't give you anything).

Micromanaging should always happen in difficult settings/encounter.

Right now, you got it easy on the difficulty, and I can understand your question.
But my point is, when they release patch to make it harder, it will not be about your cipher build, it will be about difficulty setting.

Certainly some classes are more into micro than others, and certainly, you can orient your cipher toward something less of micro.
And for that I would suggest you a cipher souldblade mainly good at auto-attacking.
> Might max
> Dex max
> Per max
con 7
int 3
resolve the rest of your points.

This cipher wouldn't use buff/debuffs/whatever else, simply auto-attack.

As for your multi-class idea. I have no idea, you'll have more actives in the end, and it will be more about micro.
Possibly Monk if you want to stay on the auto-attack.

I went with a Fighter (warhammer Devoted). It's doing close to the same amount of damage as the rest of the party combined. I chose Fighter for:
  • Rapid Recovery, which adds a lot of health regen and last through most battles.
  • Disciplined Strikes, which adds accuracy and upgrades attacks
  • Warrior Stance, another +5 to accuracy.
  • Armored Grace, for a -25% recovery penalty. I currently have my Psyblade in Devil of Caroc's Breastplate for a 0 recovery penalty.

The accuracy stacking makes a pretty big difference for my Psyblade compared to Sarafen (2nd highest damage) who generally has to be buffed by Xoti before his accuracy is high enough for his abilities to land. I generally start the battle with Disciplined Strikes, then I cast Borrowed Instinct, Ring Leader, Ectopsychic Echo and start spamming Soul Annihilation as the focus builds up. If I need an interrupt I use Mind Wave, against bosses I toss in a Recall Agony, and against high armor targets I have Body Attunement (to help my party, a warhammer Devoted doesn't need to worry about armor penetration).
