PSA: Don't retrain your characters.
Tested this, and can confirm right now you'll lose at least one levels worth of stat-ups and at least one of your weapon proficiencies - ofc this depends on your level. The higher your level the more you lose. :(

yeah.. and the Skills you get from trainers are just gone too, when you Retrain
Morgian May 17, 2018 @ 9:34am
I bet you also lose the stat points from two locations, if you already had them.

wtf for real?! i did it a bunch of times and never noticed anything
Floid May 17, 2018 @ 10:09am
It only happens the first time you do it. Cause it's like forfeiting a levels worth of stats-up's. After that you can't get those lost points back, but you also don't lose any more either in subsequent retrain times.

Seems pretty crappy to me, dunno why the devs do it.

As you lose the watcher abilities retraining the watcher is stupid.

Just popping in to confirm this bug is real. If you retrain characters, you lose the first ability you got for free that you choose upon character creation. So from then on, you will always be down an ability point.

Well ♥♥♥♥ I retrained my entire party.. I'm like 20 hours in.. should I just restart then?

You don't lose anything on companions and if you didn't lose the watcher abilities or didn't notice you lost them then why restart?

Unfortunately it also applies to your companions too. If you retrain any of them, then the first time you do they will also lose at least one levels worth of stat-ups.

If you use "Iroll20s" to enable the console, you can use it to give your characters their abilities back, disables achievements though.

Not a big deal IMO, especially if you want to completely redo their abilities assigned before joining.

There is option in the options menu "train characters automatically" turn it off, all new party members will join on lvl1
