There's a really good dagger on an island west of fort deadlight. It's called pukestabber.

It's superb, so one step away from legendary and easy enough to upgrade to legendary

I can recommend you 2 good weapons ( dagger and stilleto) locations for your rogue that I remember, sorry, I can´t remember more right now.

In Poko Kahara there is a souldbound dagger.
And about the stiletto, in Delver´s Row. Rust (assasin NPC) have this weapon. You must kill him, of course. It is brutal this stiletto indeed.

See you!

There really aren't very many of any given weapon type other than sabres in the game. There is a mod that changes a bunch of weapons to other types in an attempt to balance it out, but it doesn't actually add any more daggers (there are three). https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/81

Marux whatever is only good for certain builds, but Pukestabber's pretty good, you can buy another called Lover's Embrace from Marihi in Periki's Overlook (not really worth it imo). The two stilettoes are good, too, though. Rust's Poignard as mentioned, and if you don't want to kill him, there's Azure Blade in the crypts in Sacred Stair.

only three daggers in the whole game, that's very bad?
and because of the mod what can it? weapons types change? So ax change into daggers or how?

Is there any other way to play an assasin without daggers? So you have ambush with more dmg then or is it only with daggers? So if I take two sabers now, is there just as much damage in the ambush?

Sure, you don't need daggers for the power to work. Matter of fact you'll probably do more damage with the initial attack with sabers. The benefit of daggers is they attack faster/higher initiative.

Not sure if they changed anything in TB mode to make them more desirable, attacking higher in the round doesn't really balance out the loss of extra attacks.

The advantage of daggers is that they attack faster / with higher initiative.

can you explain this to me more please, how does it work with speed and initiative
Du-Vu Jun 5, 2019 @ 9:23am
The Cyclopedia in the game can explain it better than I can. Basically just go into your inventory, right click the weapon, and hover over the highlighted text (so Initiative in turn-based mode or Recovery Time in real-time) and it'll define that term. You only get one or the other depending on whether you're in turn-based mode or real-time with pause.

In TB, Initiative is added based on the actions you take. Daggers cost less Initiative and in theory lower initiative is good, letting you act earlier in the round. But in practice I find it's usually more helpful for rogues to act later, to take advantage of positioning and buffs/debuffs put down by your allies.

In RT, lower Recovery Time just means less time between attacks which means more attacks, which means more chances to crit and make use of any effects with a set duration.

ah ok thank you very much, then who better to start with a rogue with two sabers or the same, with a two-handed!
