Lord Admiral Imp turns all guards hostile (Turn Based)
Trying to do a bounty to kill Lord Admiral Imp in Queens Berth but as soon as he attacks me all the surrounding guards go hostile to me as well for no reason. I am playing Turn Based Mode.

Anybody encountered this?

Yup. Turn based combat makes guards turn hostile when combat starts. It's a known bug.

On the plus side (from what I've read, haven't tested it myself) killing the guards in combat won't affect your reputations.

I feel like it definitely used to. Maybe that's a hotfix given they can't seem to isolate why this is happening in turn-based mode.

Does this only happen with Lord Admiral Imp/Cotta in Queen's Berth? Or does it happen elsewhere, like with Katrenn and Torkar as well?

I don't recall the names of the NPCs nor the quest, but it happened to me in that "Back Alley" encounter in Queen's Berth. From what I've read, it is likely to happen in every encounter where city guards are present.

But only in Queen's Berth? Katrenn is the mage with all the golems in Sacred Stair and Torkar's the ogre at the Dunnage docks.

Not sure, honestly. I quit my TB run when I found out how buggy it was (it was in beta, to be fair), and started over with RT.

Had the same issue.
Contact Obsidian with a save file right before the fight if you want to help them fixing this.

That's what I did, and the QA dev answered he did not manage to reproduce that bug, I really don't understand...

It took me 10-15 times, before I manage to finish the fight with no guards turning hostile, this is random, but still guards were doing that more often than not.
And yet Obsidian claim they don't have the bug, no matter how many times they try....

If you really can't pass that fight without guards attacking you, Obsidian QA will do it for you.

I've seen people say they managed to do the fight by letting every enemy attack them first before they attacked back without getting any hostile guards.

That is basically what I did since I buff my party with my priest firt, and delay the rest of my characters' turns so that they attack with the buff on afterward.
Ennemies would always attack me before I do then, did not change a thing, guards still turning hostile randomly.

So I beat the Lord Imp by reloading. It seems totally random, sometimes the guards would turn hostile as soon as combat started, sometimes they would turn hostile at the end. One combat I took it on the little pier after leading the enemies there and managed to finish it but it took 4 tries, first try the guards came hostile at the end, the 2 others they turned hostile straight away, the last they didn't.

I took The ogre in Dunnage and the mage in Sacred Stairs fight without the guards becoming hostile.

So not sure if it is entirely random but it suchs as srsly shouldn't be a thing. I done google search and plenty are reporting it, it should not be unknown to them now.

As I alwready stated, I just reported them my issue with my save file.
The QA dev answered me he did not manage to reproduce the bug I was supposely encountering: so no bug or issue for him.

Hey all,

Yea, I tried a few times with the save that was sent and when I did the encounter via dialogue which caused the Xaurips to initiate combat, everything seemed to work as it should(If I attacked first outside of dialogue, guards would take offense). I'll be having another dev play through this to see what result he ends up with.

Sorry you're all running into this issue.

Well, I just got the Obsidian POE2 edition Oct 20th, 2019 and this is still a bug.

My first fight, no guards attacked, but I flubbed watching my health and died. Then the next 5 reloads guards would attack. Sometimes right away... sometimes... not until only two enemies were left... then every bloody guard came running.
