Can someone explain chanter to me?
Hello,

I've already put over 100+ hours into the PoE series but I've never played a chanter. I'm currently using the waterspeaker (multiclass druid/chanter) in my party but I'm not sure what he should be doing. Playing on RTwP PotD.

Questions:

1) Are phrases generated automatically? Can I make an AI script that uses phrase generators in the order I want them to?

2) Do phrase generators count as actions like auto attacking or other spells?

3) Do phrase generators have a recovery time?

4) How many phrases can I generate at once?

5) Are there ways to increase phrase duration or generation speed?

6) Can I move/attack/cast while generating phrases?

7) Where can I find a good script for the spender abilites for a chanter?

Thanks in advance!

1. Phrases are passive auras. You can build your phrase combos on a character panel (a scroll icon, if I recollect correctly).
2. They work on the background, so probably no. Phrases do not interfere with your actions.
3. No. They always last for 6 seconds and linger for 3+ seconds depending on your Intellect.
4. Usually 1-2 (current chant + lingering effect), but with very high INT you can extend the lingering duration and (probably) overlap them, or at least have 2 effects active permanently. I've never had a chanter with enough INT, so I can't say.
6. Yes

You can learn a lot about chanters, phrases and invocations within the PoE 2 Wiki:

And yes, chanters can perform other actions while reciting phrases.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
