Is it possible to beat Amaranth in the tutorial?

Origial game version had Amaranth stop taking damage once he reached 1hp, is this still the case?
Side note, Anyone know how to unlock the paladin?

During testing, it became possible to beat Amaranth during tutorial. Haven't tried it in the Early Access version yet.

Paladin is currently unlocked by beating the Labyrinth once.

Yes, you can beat Amaranth during tutorial, a hidden cutscene plays that eludes to the rest of the game.

Although I do remember beating him on my Ipad after I replayed the tutorial when I got better at the game. They might have added that in the second major patch,

He's been killable during a lot of the PC beta, but just recently we made his secret ending for defeating him actually work.
