"Studying" isn't enough, you actually HAVE to practically do something if you want to see a result. "I'm more qualified", what are you, 12? The zero lines you translated in all these months speak for you qualification quite well. When I asked you if you needed help to finish it, I was expecting you actually started doing something, instead of, well, nothing.
No one gets paid for this, true, but it's still a commitment you shouldn't take if you don't have the time or the desire to complete it.
Still, no big deal, everything's done now, since I've been translating things for years and already translated a couple games (officially and unofficially), I've completed it on my own and even though it wasn't easy, with a little technical help from Vecna I was even able to translate all menus and pictures.
On a side note, for people still struggling, there are definitely some issues about the patch released before: if you apply it and test the game without replacing anything, it seems to already crash on its own by the 2954 passcode at the beginning and in some other occasions.
So it's way better to decompile the .rgssad file with Gemini and DreaMaker and editing the .txt file there, replace all edited images and then recompile in a much flawless way (PM me for better instructions in case).
Don't waste time with the ruby file, else you had to copypaste everything in the .txt file again (as I had to :\ ).
By the way, how did you translate the Mom texts/hints? With the ruby file, we override the variable in the script, but DreaMaker does not extract this kind of text.
I have a few questions for the translation teams:
1.) This is my first time handling any sort of DreaMaker/translation stuff, so I'm fairly new to the process and I'm not sure how everything works. Once the game has been translated, what needs to be done on my end so that people can download the translated versions from Steam? (My apologies if this is really simple or obvious... I've just never done this before, so it's completely new to me^^)
2.) I noticed that the Italian and Spanish translations were posted in the "Guides" section. I'd love to have these available for download directly from Steam when folks purchase the game... How can I do this?
3.) In any of the translated versions, has anyone noticed any cutscenes where the music and dialogue are not synchronized properly? I ask this because I was watching a Let's Play of the Korean version, and it seems as though the timing during the final boat cutscene was changed. When Boy removes his hat, and says "You're my hero" to Mom, the music is supposed to be at the same place as the English version, but for some reason it's off. However, I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Let's Player's computer, or if it's related to the Korean translation. I'm wondering if some of the code that indicates the dialogue box needs to "wait" a certain amount of frames was mistakenly removed?
For reference, here is the scene I'm talking about:
https://youtu.be/PDfRCFdaChE?t=2h21m22s
And here is a link to the Korean translation: http://caswac1.tistory.com/entry/%EB%9D%BC%EC%BF%A0%EC%97%94
Thanks again for all your hard work! I'll try my best to get these translated versions out to folks! And congrats to the teams who have finished! So far we have finished versions in Spanish, Italian, Chinese and Korean! Now I just have to learn how to make these versions available for download (so any help explaining how to do that would be greatly appreciated)^^
I'm not sure about DreaMaker, but the translation system I made supports multiple languages and could be used to create a single release with the option to select the language: https://github.com/JoaoFelipe/rakuen-translation
If you want to have an official release of it, you probably just need to add the following line on top of the Main script and create the folder "translations" in the Rakuen path with the "translation.rb" and the translations folders:
Then, during the execution, the language.rb loads the translation and dynamically updates the texts.
Some people reported bugs with the system though. I couldn't reproduce yet, but I think they tried to use a translation extracted from a previous version of the game, so it is an issue we probably have to deal with: how to update the translation after updating the game. Also, it would be great to have more testing.
If you have an existing translation and you want to convert the Engine.rgssad to my translation system, you can run the extractor.rb and rename the folders: https://github.com/JoaoFelipe/rakuen-translation#updating-translations
The extractor won't extract Mom's texts nor images. Those will have to be updated manually in the generated files.
Unfortunately I don't have the time to implement more features now, or to try to convert the translations to this system, but let me know if you need some help. I may answer faster by email: joaofelipenp@gmail.com
I am absolutley new in those translation things. I just saw the game and doing a "lets play" about it. The game is so beautiful, so I really want to help :-)
You can add me on steam or send me a mail to moehre2507@gmail.com
I am looking forward :-)

Obrigado e boa sorte :)

As I mentioned earlier, I have zero experience translating RPG Maker games... However, since the OP hasn't posted in a while, I wanted to make sure to keep the ball rolling so that we can get Rakuen translated into as many languages as possible! Thanks so much for all of your hard work and effort, it's really excited to see so many folks play Rakuen in other languages.
1.) For those who are interested in translating Rakuen, but need help getting started, I wrote up a "basic instructions" thread here (a text file that contains all of the in-game dialogue can also be found in this post):
http://steamcommunity.com/app/559210/discussions/3/1621726179563636181/
2.) Please feel free to make a thread at the sub forum for your language's translation team. This will be really useful for the purpose of discussion, testing, and coordinating the implementation of the translation later on.
This is wonderful news! Thanks so much! You folks should definitely make a Brazilian Portuguese thread at the Translations sub forum. Please let me know if you need anything from me. Also, thank-you unneon for your reply earlier!
Thanks so much for the kind words, DerMöhre! We would absolutely love help with a German translation, and I think there might be a few others who are interested in helping out as well. Please feel free to start up a new thread for the German version at the Translation sub forums, and I'll direct the other folks there!
Thank-you very much! We'd appreciate this a lot!
