know what type of mission and team size
hi I am on chap 2 in ur great game, really enjoy it,
but what I would like to se change is that I would like to know how many men I can use and what type of mission I am about to go on, before the mission starts. As of now I first save, then start the mission, and when I have seen how many men and what mission it is, I load the game and then chose what men and equipment I want to use, it would be easier if u knew this beforehand.
so u could plan ahead before the mission starts. 1 compromise could be that if u have recon first u would know thise things if not u wouldnt

While on choose agents and support screen you can still go back, so it's not definitive until you load the mission to choose the deploy zone and place support.

Also, what I think on mission size is (to be confirmed) : 2 agents per enemy agent.
So if you can bring 6 agents it means you'll encounter 3 of them.

I think its more to do with the type of mission. The standard kill/capture enemy agent mission lets you take two guys while conspiracy cell and rescue informer missions always let you take 6 people regardless of the number of enemy agents present.

I have had missions where I could only take 4

So you certainly encountered 2 enemy agents. More feedback from players would confirm or infirm this.

The game seems failing to show such info for every case.

Well, I been on 3 conspiracy cell missions with 3, 2 and 1 enemy agent present respectively. In all cases, I was able to bring a team of 6.

All kill/capture enemy agents I've seen only allowed 2 team members (1 enemy agent). Only had one rescue informer mission so far, that one allowed 6 team members (1 enemy agent).

I've had one story mission (forced ambush) that only allowed 3 team members. Saw at least 2 enemy agents, might have been more but I didn't stick around to find out. There was a story mission with 4 team members, but I can't remember how many enemy agents there were. All other story missions allowed 6 team members and had only 1 enemy agent in them.

In one of their first live streams one of them (the lead designer i think) said the number of units you can bring is based on the mission type;
Infiltration: 2
Ambush: 4
Assault: 6
That is not counting support units of course, as the only limitation with them seem to be how many available slot you have unlocked.

Assault on beholder cell 6 agents enemy agents can be 0-3. You will know how many agent there are by checking objective. There 9 enemy patrols anything beyond that are agents so 10-12, 1-3 enemy agents.

I just played the mission where u have to get the cargo could only take 4 men, that was not a ambush mission

Now I remember! There was only one enemy agent in that mission. IIRC, that's also one of those missions that forces you into combat after a certain point.

Tbh I'm not sure Ambush is the correct name for those kind of missions, but I have no idea what else they're called. I just remember they said there are 3 different types of standard mission and those scenarios where you have to steal stuff or defuse bombs always seem to have a 4 units limit.

I think this particular mission that thyge is referring to is a story mission. It is the mission you get after solving the casefile that Omikron gives you. There's also a story mission that's similar to the standard missions where your agents get ambushed but with 3 team members.
