So how does Brainwashing work?
I "successfully" brainwashed an enemy agent but literally nothing changed. Is there a hidden "Will" value that I have to break down below a certain value to do anything with them? Or did nothing change because I haven't developed the facilities necessary to take further action?

You don't brainwash enemy agents. That is for your own agents that are Beholder sleepers.

Well that's good to know. I just put the one to work printing money since I figured she would be useless in actual combat lol.

Yeah there needs to be some kind of event or danger to keeping those guys around for extended periods of time, they've been working my comms and counterfeiting operation for awhile now, seems kind of silly.

Yup, strip mine of all gear and put them to work in the base too. Currently no danger in doing that.

So wierd. Got two agents that have a Cabal Trigger Phrase that I never installed. They were secret traits. Seems odd to have agents that will join you in combat, that are already on your team~

curious what happens if you send a known brainwashed agent with you in battle? Do they always turn or is it a chance?

I found out one agent turned and reloaded. I restarted the fight by having him fire and he stayed on my side but went down clean at the start of the enemy turn. I picked him up and evac'd only to find him interrogated and killed even though he was still on my team at the time

Doesnt enemy agents kept at base incrase the danger level? After brainwashing that danger threat increase is removed? Or you keep them just until the facility has open slot again?

There is an upgrade, Farady Cages. Captured enemy Agents don't increase danger anymore.

Thanks, i thought it only reduces it from -2 to sth like -1. Then its really a must have after you build mkultra facility, before getting any enemy agents there.

Brainwashing convert the agent on your side? Sorry for question,i havent tried it yet :/

And btw, whats the point of conversion then? Brainwashing is cheaper, and mostly remove useless perks, the outcome is that you still have an extra agent.

That is also good to know. I capture all the agents I encounter and didn't know why the hell my danger was going out of control. Time to line 'em all up.

@ Developers: Please update the tooltext for that. Right now it reads "Enemy agents captured by the Cabal". I barely knew / remembered that I AM the Cabal since it's referenced so little. I thought the enemy organization was capturing unclaimed agents and they were revealing my location somehow.

Brainwashing is for your own agents. Shows what their secret perks are and if they are a beholder sleeper, removes that. Can also remove random perks. I don't use it.

Conversion will convert captured enemy agents to your side. They are added to your roster like any other agent.

unless I am mistaken, sleeper agents aren't enemy agents (yet). More like there is a secret program hidden in them that will make them turn if activated, but if not activated, they are basically your agent (they prob don't know about the sleeper program themselves)

Which is why they won't add danger or steal your secrets or whatever?

Despite one agent having sleeper perk, I sent her into many stealth missions due to her having a useful actor perk as well, with no issues at all (I did not get into any combat). Eventually, I got brainwash upgrade to clear the perk, though it erased another perk along with it.

If it works like how it does in the tutorial mission, they should only become a problem if they come into contact with an enemy agent.

That being said, I have seen videos where an agent can immediately turn on you when combat starts; though that might have been a double agent (actual enemy agent pretending to be on your side) instead of a sleeper.

Two different things. One is a sleeper and activates with combat. The other is triggered with a phrase, like the tutorial.

So its basically like this:
1) Sleeper: Keep away from enemy agents
2) Double agent: Don't engage in combat with them on the team
