Doesn't work

Nothing works, tried WSAD, arrows, control pad, mouse. Game displays OK but can't fire and can't move the cannon/gun turret or whatever it's meant to be.
Also no steam overlay or screenshots.

OK re install fixed it and now the mouse works at least (surely it would have been easy to add control pad support) but when I pull up steam overlay it freezes the game. At least I can play it now.
