It won't let you continue until you say what it wants you to say, obviously.
"It was all..... ", remember?
Thanks! That was the first that I thought, and it didn't work out.. because I missed "all" every time..
Go to side, not go to back. This tricked me first time I played it. You aren't going to the back of the house, you're going to the side of the house.
Be careful to read exactly what it says about where things are, and try to replicate what the game says when inputting commands as much as possible.
I just finished episode 2, and the commands get very obscure in that. In that it's not at all obvious in any way what you're supposed to do. Based on the description of where you are and what's going on.
What I suggest is in every room you enter, or every area you go to, use the "look around" command, to get a better idea of what's going on and what you can interact with
I remember playing Zork, Monkey Island and other games that required typing and was always amazed by the responses and different ways in which the game actually accepted verbs/actions.
Sadly none of those seem to be in several games of this style anymore.
I hated them, they infuriated me. But for some reason, this grabbed me when I played the free version of home abandon and I couldn't wait to see more so I grabbed this immediately.
I love how they play with what's "real" in these. How things happen as you type. When i first played house abandon I actually looked over my shoulder the first time. It was amazing.
Think logically. What would you do with those wires?
Hmmm.... ?
Try pulling them out maybe?
I did have trouble with some of those actions in the second story, especially the part where you are covered in the wreckage. I hardly noticed I was pinned by it, because the game just said the wreckage was around you.
That's probably why it's sucks to my, I tried "take off wires" "tear off wires" "tear away wires" "take wires", but the right answer is "pull".. I don't know..
Thanks again!
Refund the game it's going to be a struggle xD How do you stop a phone ringing
Also in chapter 3 the radio voice kept saying THIRTY, FORTY but actually it is supposed to be THIRTEEN FOURTEEN.. should have used much cleaner pronunciation.. frustrating bits that ruined the experience for me. I just ALT+F4 it and watched a playthrough, it is more worth experiencing that way.
Well honestly, you had to be out of the room or something to miss what you had to type when it says "just say it".
But the radio giving instructions in chapter 3 is a solid criticism. It took me a few attempts to get right, just because I couldn't tell if it was saying "thirteen" or "thirty" and stuff like that.
Other than that it's a bloody great game, and a fantastic throwback to the text adventures I played way back in the 80's on my commodore 64.
