Have you given it a shot in proton? If it doesn't work, you can refund it
By mistake I baught it. I usually only support native games. So I just tested it on Proton on Ubuntu 18.04 / RX 480 / mesa
It doesn't start and I'm currently asking a refund.
Here was the error:
Failed to initialize graphics.
Make sure you have DirectX 11 installed, have up to date
drivers for your graphics card and have not disabled
3D acceleration in display settings.
InitializeEngineGraphics failed
EDIT: s/GTX 480/RX 480 >_<
Thanks for the feedback
Because it's a good game and it's a good platform. The end.
Dear sephchan,
today is not the best day for trolling since the new 1809 update has been released, so do yourself a favor and make a backup of your data

Thank me later :-)
I also reported him. Thanks.
It's because your graphic card (or at least drivers) do not support Vulkan (and Proton uses Vulkan by default to translate DX11 calls). You can work around this by clicking RMB on Goroga in library, then Properties -> Set Launch Options and paste: "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1 %command%". Game works well for me with this setting.
It's such a shame, that developer did not release Linux version. It's Unity title, so porting it to Linux should be straightforward at this point.
I don't have the game anymore to test with the environment variable PROTON_USE_WINED3D11
Thanks for the tip anyway.
I'll wait and see if a native build for linux is coming.
Did you try any other DX11 titles in Proton?
Let's hope the developer will make Linux release, it would be better than waiting for the game to be whitelisted for Proton. Game works fine with tiny sound crackling issues, so native version would likely work fine as well.
@jeffl hey there - I already own your game - can you release Linux build e.g. on beta branch? Some of us here can help with testing. From what I can tell your game uses Unity and has no serious issues working through wine/Proton (I tested it on 2 systems, specs here: https://spcr.netlify.com/app/557600), therefore most likely Linux build would work out of the box. It could result in some free advertisement on https://www.gamingonlinux.com/ ;)
Not quite the same ;)
I'll edit my first comment to not be misleading.
