This game feels clunky as hell.

I don't know if I'm just doing something wrong but everything about this game feels like I have to wrestle with the controls. First of all, having the default dodge and crouch/roll buttons be W and S was a huge mistake on their part, the 2 most common buttons you're liable to miss-click be the buttons that make it so you cant shoot straight or shoot at all is frustrating.

The slow motion is too slow and the games regular speed is too fast, play in slow mo and you're waiting for your guns to point where you are actually aiming before shooting, it feels like the cursor is merely a suggestion for where you want your bullets to go, the rest is at the mercy of the painfully slow animations. Play on normal speed and it's like you're playing a cover shooter like gears of war with the controls of Mirrors Edge.

It's like they wanted to have a fast-paced twitchy shooter game, but with the slow and detailed animations of a turn-based rpg. It just doesn't mesh well, It's like playing Hotline Miami with a steering wheel.

Sounds like you're playing with mouse and keyboard. That's why it feels clunky to you. It's meant for a controller.

I dont think its meant for a controller, tho you can:
1. change your inputs
2. unlock the modifier to change slow mo speed

I changed most of my keyboard controls before even starting the game. Feel smooth to me

Yeah I had the same problems try changing your key binds to ur liking that will change things a lot cause once u figure out controls it's smooth ride ahead

IMO this game really does play better with a controller, the twin stick split aiming just feels natural. Keyboard mouse really not ideal for this

Defaults, except "jump" is on W, "dodge" on shift and "focus" on spacebar. There is one level where jump on W will fell bad if you don't rebind something else that is bound to W by default, but other than that it worked for me.
