Lots of negativity, can we have a nice thread?
I want to encourage 1 person developers and simply say 'keep going'. I'm seeing many threads with valuable criticism despite the game only just releasing. While I agree, I wasn't expecting an FPS lock, these are things that can easily be fixed, and these things happen. For the sake of being nice people, I hope that the people who were / are quick to refund will give the game another chance down the line if these issues are addressed!

This game has lots of eyecandy and is very fun to watch and play. My personal criticisms are simply that I suck! Not killing enemies in one shot like in hotline miami is certainly a different pace, so that 'fast and precise' gameplay is a lot harder to achieve as you have to aim and hit multiple shots consistently. Then, there's the dodging which I also suck at using! The camera movement makes it so that I'm crept up on easily if my cursor isn't 'looking' in that direction. This means that unless I can prepare and enter a room and plan when I'm going to dodge, I get hit from things off screen.

I love the game though, however I'm taking a break to write this as I actually get a little motion sick from playing, maybe it was the camera shaking or the 60fps. I played through the first chapter and I'm enjoying the story and the action equally, just a light hearted banana game and sometimes we need chill games.

Some things I'd look into:

> That laser-sight line, I think it is a controller thing? It would be super helpful to see a line between my gun and the enemy so I can judge trajectory. It wouldn't be a problem if the camera weren't so dynamic like the way it is, I am always a little bit off. It'd be nice to toggle this on and off for mouse and keyboard and controller.

> Ammo counter being around the reticule. With the problem above, I'm struggling to know when I'm out of ammo as I'm too busy trying to aim. I understand this is just a practice thing and what seperates the good players from people like me, but this game looks incredible, and I'd rather be looking at how awesome Pedro's friend is than counting my bullets. This would also help with the dodging as I'd dodge whenever I'm out of ammo, and if I knew when that moment is coming I could get a handle on it easier.

> I feel like controls for kicking are given a bit too late, I found it silly that I couldn't melee enemies (when it turns out I could). Minor nitpick, but first impressions mean a lot when people can refund your game quickly.

> Lots of people are suggesting map editors and random levels. The handcrafted feel of this game is half the fun, and so I feel like a map editor is the only real solution to this. However, this is never easy and I wouldn't want to push the dev further than they already have been.

> I was recommend to play the game on a higher difficulty in another thread. This REALLY HELPS. It feels boring when half-arsed execution kills everyone. To beat levels on bananas you need to be tighter. Hotline Miami is hard, but there's nothing wrong with difficulty here and there.

honestly I agree. People are really expecting this game to be a perfect 10...but they overthink it to be such a better game. When they see problem they see it as a trainwreck. Be nice to the devs it honestly ain't that bad. Complete the game at least.

It's pretty much what I wanted it to be. Max Payne crossed with Not a Hero.
It was always going to be a short game because these things always are, they generally expect you to go for speedruns and S ranks.

Yeah, this game is fantastic. It's a bit disappointing that it's locked at 60fps, and it'd be nice to have more responsive mouse aiming, but it's so much fun that I don't have a problem waiting. Keep it up, dev!

Love the game, id really like to see workshop support with custom maps and a level designer, maybe custom weapons down the line too? This could be one of those games with endless replayabillity for people who make maps

I feel like, when it comes to small-teamed gamedev, putting work into map tooling is a hefty one but also very rewarding if it means that the fanbase can make content for you. As long as the gameplay is good (which it is) a greater variety of levels would be great. But it is a massive task, and if this game was made with, say, Unity, there's a high chance there isn't any kind of mapmaker as it'll be done in-engine, meaning a lot of work. Here's to hoping this game blossoms further!!!

My girlfriend and I just finished this game, and we both loved it! Completely worth the wait, and I want moar. MOAR of this game.

Returned the game, it's broken on PC at a choppy 60 fps and no video options. G-sync does not work properly. Was really looking forward to this game for awhile but it just feels bad to play currently.

Wait... You finished it in 3h? Removing from wishlist for now.
If you go for the achievements or harder difficulty it will take a lot more. For me it was worth every penny, and since i dont have much free time i prefer shorter games nowadays.

yes its a short game, which is why I highly suggest that people play on a harder difficulty. The game is braindead but if you challenge yourself it forces you to use cool techniques. If you beat it on the hardest difficulty in 3h then well played.

Imo this kind of game is for people who like speedrunning or perfectionists. If you want to play the game to just beat it, its not really going to do much for you.
