The aptitude test bugged.

Started a new game, completed the aptitude test but it wouldn't let me turn it in so i cancelled it.
Now i see new contracts AND the aptitude test in my contracts list.

Also, are you sure they Aptitude Test was completed? She gives you several tasks to do, ending with you crashing the system. A player in the past reported they couldn't turn in the Aptitude test, but they were never actually finishing it.

I crashed the system then disconnected. it wouldn't let me turn it in. but still gave me new jobs including the test when i cancelled it. should i restart my save?

Hmm if it bugged, it probably won't let you proceed. Restarting could be the easiest fix. Just for my troubleshooting, did you cancel or disconnect from the test the first time you attempted it?

I disconnected during the countdown of the crash of the system. then i had to cancel.

Hmm, that is weird. There is an issue with data not saving correctly between levels (fixed on my end), which may account for it. Currently I cannot recreate it, so the save-bug fix may have fixed it on my end.

The patch will be out in the morning. Hopefully it clears it up. I ran it a couple more times to make sure, and it worked every time so I'm thinking it's the same bug.

Resurrecting a dead thread, but how do I log out? I finished the apt test. Get the message it is ok to log out but the 2 links to "disconnect" and "to the net" do not do anything. Typing "Disconnect" or "Logout/ Log Out" in root access doesn't do anything either.

When you finish the test by rebooting the system, you should be able to disconnect. The system starts crashing after the "rebootsystem" command is entered in the CPU, with a 45 second countdown, so it would force you out when the timer hits 0. As soon as the countdown starts the disconnect is enabled.

Currently you do have to use a BruteForceAttack when you encounter that. I actually have the Aptitude test completely rebuilt on my end, so it won't be an issue after the next update.

Has that patch for the Tutorial come out yet? Because 2 out of 3 attempts at the tutorial force me to use bruteforceattack on the CPU node, meaning combat starts and I get forced to crash. I'd like to be able to finish the tutorial without being crashed, and I don't even know how to deal with the IC that's attacking me because it's not part of the tutorial. It is part of the conversation, but the conversation merely states, crash them before they crash you. That's great and all, but I'd like to be able to practice against the IC so I can get a feel for the combat.

I had to skip the tutorial because of the Destroyer IC always forces me to crash. Skipping the tutorial means I miss out on the exp. I got tired of retrying the tutorial over and over.

The Aptitude Test rebuild has happened. Currently there is a bug causing the difficulty to be more than intended. The patch to fix it should be out tonight.
