Key Emulator Controls

Hi,

I've got a quick question. When I got my hands on the key emulator and made a program to use it on a mission, I got presented with the puzzle screen where I had to rotate the dial to select the right key to unlock the lock 3 times before the timer run out.

I saw the Knowledge Base article on the key emulator, however there was no mention of controls for it. In other words, when I am on the puzzle (trying to unlock a node in a mission) which buttons do I need to use to actually rotate the dial and apply various keys? There is also no mention of how long I have before the system detects my key hacking attempts and summons the IC to attack me.

I know that the key emulator was mentioned in the Aptitude Test, but I am not sure whether the controls were listed there as well?

Hmm thats a good catch! I believe the controls are listed on the Key_emulator window itself, but I will have to check. It should be wasd to move the ring, and space bar to try the lock. There is a base 30 seconds, modified by the security level (lowers it), your program rating, and your cryptography skill (raises it).

Thank you for you reply. It would really help a player if the controls were to be displayed on the same window as the puzzle or perhaps a key shortcut could be in the game that would remind the player about those controls.
