And why are people ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the old ending anyways?
I haven't seen the ending, so I can't comment, just passing what I'm told. My brother beat the game (and he is generally fair and logical when it comes to reviewing a game's worth) and mostly hated the fact that you were forced to dumpp useless points to learn abilities and of course Aria, and he said the ending just felt like there was more intended but they ran out of money and/or time which is a complaint I've heard elsewhere like reddit (it gets compared to the abrupt and unsatisfying ending of Mass Effect 3, for instance, which isn't good).
I heard the devs said they intended to expand the epilogue to show what happens to each character so people aren't left hanging...
So is that true or...? Thanks.
The ending was very clear to me the first time Eris sacrificed herself and turn into cosmic energy to power up Finn's weapon so he could end Azgaroth once and for all, there was nothing to go from there, Legrand was safe and the story over. Finn and Aria probrably got married as they intended
But yeah, they have already added some post-game scenes to explain the ending better, along with the 'Easy mode and Hard mode' if you want the challenge or just to know the story and an option to remove the 'ring' system if you like it.
And pro tip, there is no such thing as useless stats, the only thing you can probrably get away without it is LUK and AGI (but LUK will help you land criticals more often and interrupt enemies and AGI will help you dodge and increase ATK, my Kael with 99 agi rarely get hit by anything), you will need everything else.. Late game if your character doesn't have enough INT you will probrably get one shoted by magic users because you don't have enough magic resist.
But if you don't care about that, just play on easy or normal and enjoy the story.
I'd debate the useless stats comment, as it really depends on the game, and as a min/maxer I've found the vast majority of RPGs to have useless stats whether they seem that way or not on the surface because, usually because of a superior strat/combo/build/whatever that trivilizes those stats. Hopefully that's not the case here but we'll see I guess, I didn't delve deep enough to really get a feel for it.
That bit about the post-games scene is mostly what I wanted to know I think, thank you. I just didn't want to beat the game and miss out on potential improvements.
Just keep in mind that Strength will only increase the damage for physical attacks (the 'attack' command) and the Arcanas (Everyone except Aria), all grimores are INT based.
I just finished the game and can confirm, there are indeed aditional scenes, and some of the dialogue at the end are different.
If you ever get stuck on the game at some part, feel free to check my walkthrough on youtube. I have completed all side quests and defeated all monsters in the arena (even the latest additioned) on the Hard difficulty, you can find the link on my profile.
Enjoy the game.
Thanks, will do, I really appreciate it!
