I had leveled up like 30 times straight after the fight thanks to the 200k exp. Which leveling 30 times at once made the Switch version of the game's frames tank for a few seconds xD
After I beat them once, I proceeded to farm them about 6 more times to lvl everyone to 99. Not sure what was up with the drops and if it was a Switch exclusive bug. But the slimes always dropped 0 arkwok scales. Which, you can put 1 away at a time for infinite amounts of the item and the 0 never disappears unless you press the put away all button. Too bad you never really need more than one of the item and it has a value of 0 dannars.
Tanking is the way to go I imagine. Having Finn be the sole tank on the frontline also reflects all damage while he guards. He can reflect something like 15k damage while also avoiding all damage with a perfect guard. Even if you fail a perfect guard, Finn can even guard against power hits from all 3 slimes at once if your vitality and magic defence are high enough. Though the chance of three 5000 damage hits in one turn would be super rare. Only thing that can destroy a run is if those pesky Slimes get a paralyze early match.
Having one back liner focus on poisoning/silencing while the other heals/silences works fine. The poison dealing massive damage per turn. The silence literally making the slimes do tickle damage for a few turns in case you fail your perfect guards. Much safer for Finn to tank only 1 or 2 slimes at once.
Personally, I played the game on the Switch. And the inconsistent frame-rate made timing perfect guards a bit hard. The game on the Switch eats your inputs if it skipped the frame you tried to press the button on. I blame the horrible un-optimized Unity engine for the poor performance. Even with that in mind. I was able to do the Slime battle my first time at around lvl 55 thanks to the tank build.
I also kept my two characters with highest physical defense in front. That way, once silenced but before the round of smutars (silence and fear will wear off at the same time even though you inflicted them in diff rounds) if any slimes were physically attacking they might each choose a diff character vs just one, minimizing likelihood of a death.
But, even a character dying won't totally screw you. I had Kael die once and it was fine.
Anyway, just silence and fear all the time. Poison when you can and just keep Dark Stabbing.
