The arm swing locomotion works like in GORN, and as you mentioned, you basically drag yourself when pressing the trackpad. To move forward you need to first drag yourself with one hand, release the trackpad, and then drag yourself with the other hand. Rinse and repeat.
The reason for this type of movement is that in Gladius or similar combat games you need to be able to do quick lateral moves that are not possible with the classical approach.
Cheers!
Ahhh ok. Yep not a fan at all of this idea. I don't use it in GORN. It is too cumbersome and doesn't allow for agile fighting. I have to disagree about classical arm swing locomotion. I think it is far better suited to combat games. Games like Skyrim where I use classical locomtion work very well in hand to hand combat. The arm swing locomotion in Gladius is like crawling across sand.
Native support for WMR was just included in UE4 in the last release (4.21) that was released this month. We usually stay behind 1-2 official UE4 releases for stability reasons, so we will upgrade the version in the next 2-3 months max. Sorry for having to wait, but upgrading UE4 versions has to be done very carefully to not break everything in the proces.
Cheers!
Wonderful, thanks.
